Seasonal eats spring and summer Fruit and veg you can enjoy more cheaply and in a more sustainable way, when it’s in season.

March
VEG Beetroot, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, leeks, potatoes, carrots, swede, parsnips, spring onions and cauliflower.]

FRUIT Rhubarb and pomegranate.
Also celeriac, purple sprouting broccoli, chicory.


April

VEG Leeks, potatoes, radishes, watercress, broad beans, cauliflower, spring cabbage and spring onions.

FRUIT Passion fruit and rhubarb.
Also Jersey Royal new potatoes, spinach and kale.


May

VEG Asparagus, broad beans, watercress, carrots, salad leaves, mushrooms, broccoli, potatoes and peas.

FRUIT Cherries and strawberries.
Also Jersey Royal new potatoes, fennel and mange tout.


June

VEG Asparagus, broad beans, courgettes, radishes, runner beans, spring onions, watercress and turnips.

FRUIT Rhubarb, gooseberries, passion fruit, strawberries and raspberries.
Also artichoke and aubergine.

August

FRUIT Apples, blackberries, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, plums and gooseberries.
Also artichokes, aubergine, figs, damsons, redcurrants, chillies, peppers and apricots.
