Expert view: How to create beachy waves in 10 minutes

If you'd like smooth, dressed waves that don't take hours to fix, follow this simple how-to guide by celebrity stylist, Zoë Irwin and Wellaflex Silvikrin Style Director. You'll need good quality equipment, such as a bristle brush, hairdryer and tongs to recreate this look. Plus, the new Wellaflex Silvikrin Heat Creations product range to help protect your hair from the heated styling tools, and give your tresses natural shine.

1. Brush damp hair and apply Heat Creations Blow Dry Spray evenly through sections of your hair to protect it against heat

2. Take sections of the hair, and blow dry with a large, round bristle brush to add volume and a soft wave. Keep the hairdryer nozzle downwards to avoid frizz

3. Blow dry the hair using the cold shot on the hairdryer, then wrap hair around the curling tongs, plaiting one strand forwards, the next backwards. And repeat

4. Release, and leave to cool

5. Lightly brush through and tousle the style with your fingers to add texture, definition and movement

6. Lightly spritz with Heat Creations Hairspray to keep those waves defined and frizz-free
