Summer style 3 great ideas to look good at work, at the park, in the heat or out for the night.

1. Trust your denim.
Your one good pair of jeans or denim skirt could be your best friend this season. Swap a clean little white blouse for your T-shirt and you’ll have instant casual summer style whether you’re out with the family or meeting friends in the evening. Plus any necklace will look great.

2. Go hippy.
Floaty tops, long skirts or a sarong wrapped round your hips or even your shorts can add a feminine yet easy look for summer. You can smarten up by adding a dark coloured top that covers at least the top half of your arms, then strip down to a cotton vest when you’re lounging in the garden.

3. Worship the sun dress.
In washable jersey and pretty colours that are forgotten in the grey months of the year, the sun dress is a lifesaver for throwing on when you need to rush to pick the kids up, but can be topped with a dainty pastel coloured cotton cardi for a summer night out. Find a cut you like then buy two – you’ll be living in them all holiday long.

Savvy tip
If you’re going out straight from a busy day at work, don’t lug a new outfit around with you, but do carry fresh undies to change into before you meet your mates. It’ll help you feel perked up after a wilting day in a hot office.

Pass it on – your perfect sunglasses
If you do lots of sporty activities in the summer consider ones that wrap around for good grip and eye protection. If you go for smaller frames bear in mind that you might not block out enough glare when driving.
