Do not buy

The comb clogs up at every pass. The blades are not sharp enough and leaves clumps and odd strands of hair. Have clippered my hair for over 20 years and these are the worst. Do not buy.

Nice piece of kit!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package with my Hair Clipper received free from Braun was the smart packaging. There's a picture of the clipper on the front and the box is mostly black - looks appealing already! The product itself is a nice size, light without feeling cheap and it fits comfortably in my hand. It is slightly curved which means it's easy to grip, which is a nice touch. I was impressed to find that there were 8 different length settings. I must admit I had fun trying each of them out. I found the described length pretty accurate compared to other trimmers I've used in the past. The item also doubles up as a beard trimmer so it has everything you would need! The package also contains a cleaning brush and an oil bottle - again nice touches which you don't always get with other similar products. Finally there's a charger although I haven't needed to use it yet - the battery life is very good so far. The only criticism I have is that the charger only has a two prong plug, with no adaptor. This is fine if you have a bathroom shaving port - luckily, I already have an adaptor - but if not, this would be rather annoying and would necessitate a further purchase of the adaptor. All in all, I think this is a pretty good piece of kit. It does the job very well, is comfortable to hold and nice to look at. I would recommend the product, while wishing manufacturers start putting plug adaptor a in the boxes!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great clippers despite being a little on the short side.

The first thing I noticed was the build quality, they felt much better than regular hair clippers. The rubberised grip felt good in the hand. The weight of the clippers also felt nice and balanced. The 9 different settings for hair length felt a little confusing after using standard clippers with the usual detachable number graded attachment. It took a little experimenting to get a suitable length to cut my hair. The only complaint I have with these clippers is that I couldn't get a length of cut which I was totally happy with. The closest I could was still a little short for me. However using the clippers was a very good experience overall. The clippers had a good 50 mins of charge and recharging was fast. Overall I really like these clippers and would recommend them to anyone, especially those who like their hair cut nice and short! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Neat and tidy, cord free

I think very highly of my usual clippers but they are corded and this sometimes causes issues when the cord gets in the way. I was excited to get to try these hair clippers for free from Braun as they were cordless. My normal clippers have lots of different attachments but the Braun has a very nice variable guide built into the product that makes the packaging much more compact and the clippers easier to use. With the battery charged there was no issue with running time as the clippers buzzed over my hair with ease and there was still plenty of charge left at the end. My son experienced the only negative side to these clippers when cutting his hair. He has medium length curly hair and he found that the edge of the guard was tugging his hair during cutting, an experience which prompted him to switch to our regular clippers to finish the haircut. For me with hair I keep very short these clippers are ideal and they will be my go to future choice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Solid Hair Clipper not to be confused with a beard trimmer

I received the Braun HC5010 Hair Clipper for free direct from Braun to review. I liked the slide and lock adjustable guard as this makes changing the length setting far easier than removing say the No.3 and replacing with the No.1 and making sure you don't loose them (yes its not a massive hassle to do this but it is a nice improvement. Once in position the guard is very secure and does not move unless you press the release button. If you are cutting your own hair its not quite as easy as some of the omnidirectional ones are but still achievable. the unit is a nice weight (light enough to manoeuvre but heavy enough to feel like a good solid bit of kit) it also fits into your palm very well complimented by the ergonomic arched body. The unit did not pull hairs when cutting and the blades seemed very sharp I ran them under the tap a few time to test the waterproof claim and they still cut fine. Please note though this is a hair clipper and would probably work well on longer beards but I found it lacked some precision on a short beard. Overall I would recommend this product as it is certainly a step forward (and in the right direction) from the old fashioned barbershop clippers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Sharp Looks

So I was pretty impressed to receive these Braun Hair Clippers to test out. As a guy who is follicly challenged I regularly cut my own hair and have been doing so for a number of years, I mean who's going to pay for a number 1 all over!? On to the product. The packaging was slick and the contents were as described on the box, you got the clippers, a guard, some oil, a charger and of course the instructions. I was keen to try out the sharp for life cut and I have to say I was not disappointed. Not only was it effortless to cut the hair, but the feel of the clippers, their light weight and general ease of use meant that the weekly trim was going to get much more enjoyable. I didn't really have much use for the guard, but I gave it a go when I trimmed my beard and as a word of warning if you press the clippers into your skin too hard the forks of the guard can spread apart which then means you get trimmed to the skin, I cannot see this being an issue though. Overall I have been very impressed with the product, it's fully washable, charges in good time, is light and easy to take when travelling and fits well in the hand. I have to say it stacks up very well against my other cordless clippers. The only thing I wish it had was a guard what allowed for a shorter trim, I have a 1.5mm option with my other cordless clippers. Here's looking forward to many more quick cuts with these excellent clippers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great beard trimmer

I think the Braun clipper is a great, light weight, hardy beard trimmer. It's beyond simple to use, with the sliding guard to cut to a desired length. It's stays in place so having a quick tidy up is just that, quick! I found the battery and recharge perform above the stated amount, topping it up only once over the 6 or so weeks. My man hair is also starting to creep above the neck line, the clipper was great at keeping it at bay by removing the guard for a close shave. It never once nicked the skin unlike previous products I'd owned. From a beard growing perspective, I like to keep it now around the 3mm mark and the Braun hair clipper just does that. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Super Clippers

It's my opinion that the BRAUN hair clippers are the best I have ever used. There so easy to use by yourself or on others, they will bring an end to going to the barbers. As long as BRAUN do not put a silly price on them I can see them being very popular with men all over the world. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun hair clipper

When I first opened the box and saw the fimilar blue I instantly recognised this as a Braun product. This also meant I knew it was going to be a good product and it didn't disappoint. The hair clipper was well packaged but was easy to access the different parts (usually you have to fight your way through packaging) and had everything you need to get started. The clipper itself feels well built and I thought it was very clever how you adjust the grade length. It is quiet when being used and now I have this free product from Braun it will save me time and money. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great Product Great style

I had never used a brawn clipper before but I now love the product. I received the product for free from Braun and was surprised how smooth it glided around my facial hair. With other clippers I used it can leave some irritation, however my face felt smooth and clean following the shave. The blades are sharp and cut to the exact length you opt to use. For smooth irritation free grooming of your facial hair, I highly recommend using this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun hair clippers

On receiving a free Hair Clipper set from Braun I was immediately impressed by the black and blue packaging design. I've had a multitude of different clippers over the last 10-15 years and can say that first impressions of this product is very positive. The size, shape, and design is great and the manually operated hair length adjuster is a simple design that delivers the desired requirements. I feel that this feature being manually operated is of great benefit. I own a different brand beard/hair trimmer which has electronic adjustment, although electronic would at first seem suited to a 'higher end' product the reality is it uses up battery unnecessarily and can often move mid hair cut with the slightest of accidental touches. As you can imagine this is not desirable, however with the Braun clipper there is no risk of this occurance. Being water proof and therefore washable is ideal for cleanliness and hygiene. My only criticism and to be honest disappointment is that the set does not come with a carry/travel case, whereas other clippers I have used in the past often do. I have been keeping the clipper set in its original packaging and do not find this to be a practical means of storage. Overall I would rate this clipper set at 4/5, due to its functional design, good looks, and ease of use. If a Braun carry case was included in the set I would see I reason for the product not to receive a rating of 5/5. Regards, Jonny [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Does what it says on the box!

This new trimmer is definately the best I've used! I have used a number of different trimmers but this is the most accurate trimmer I've ever had. I was particularly impressed with how accurate it was on awkward angles. This trimmer will be a permanent addition to my grooming routine from now on And best of all I got it free!! Like a pro

Having blond curly hair that grows in abundance and very fast is areally awesome, if you happen to be a woman. But if you are a tall muscly man like me, the fun stops. In order to keep my manlyness instect I had to go 2 to 3 times a month to the hairdresser as Hair Clippers never really worked for me. Either they did not cut evenly or not at all. But Braun deemed me worthy of receiving a free HAir Clipper for testing and here is the review. I tested it both on my hair and face. Let's start with the hair: As I was on hliday I let it grow a bit longer and the clipper went through my hair like a hot knife through butter. No wanting to rip my scalp off , no patches, no problems, just a very even cut. Due to this great results I asked a friend for help the next time to create some layers, meaning longer at the top and getting shorter towards the neck to try out the attachment and different lenghts. Again, the result is amazing. No patches, no pain, no fuss. Verdict: This clipper has replaced my hairdresser saving me 30 to 45£ per month. The blades are rasorsharp and the cut looks professional. 5 stars The beard challenge: I have a new clipper so why not try to grow a beard. So far any attmepts ended with me looking like I glued roadkill on y face mostly due to the fact that I am too lazy to manually cut and trim the longer beard and any other clipper simply failed to deliver a good result. But this one actually passed the test. The beard is even, well groomed looking and growing oh so nicely. No patches, no pain during trimming, no clipper getting stuck in the beard and wanting to rip my face off. Nithing but a very nice, easy and fast comb through the beard to shape it up. Verdict: After years of trying to grow a long beard with the minimum effort required for keeping it inshape my paryers have been heared and asnwered by Braun. 5 Stars. Overall look and feel: The clipper is light, right sized, not too fat and the big button for hight adjustment hard to press to ensure you never accidently change the lenght during use. The noise is not too loud and the battery lasts quite long. Whoever is wanting ot switch from a wired one to a battery operated one will have no problems with this one. My longest cutting expreince with it was over 20 min and the battery still had juice left in it. To clean it or use it on wet hair is no problem either as it is water resistant which is an added bonus. Would I recommend this clipper? Yes, to 100%. It delivers really good results, is easy to handle and manouver and can replace the hairdresser. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good, but does not compete with professional corded hair clippers

This review is for the HC5010 Braun Hair Clipper, a product that I received for free from Braun. The HC5010 Braun Hair Clipper comes equipped with a short hair comb that fits over the clipper blades providing you with 9 levels of cut to choose from, a cleaning brush, oil bottle, and smart plug - please note - the plug is built to be plugged into a bathroom shaver socket. Should you not have a socket of this type available, you will need to purchase an adapter in order for this clipper to be plugged into the mains, due to the pins being of a different shape and configuration. Unfortunately, the pins are not interchangeable. The finished cut (post charging) is smooth, even, and non patchy. Due to the positioning of the blades, the lowest level of cut you can achieve is level 1. I prefer the look and feel of a level zero, but this is not possible with these clippers. The blades can not be adjusted to rectify this, as you may be able to with professional clippers. Unfortunately, I found the clippers would struggle to cut my hair at certain times during use - I have course, afro-carribean hair and even after only a week's worth of hair growth, the clippers wouldn't glide through my hair compared to the ease of professional corded clippers. Should you have long, thick, ethnic hair and you are requiring a 'buzz cut', you may find these clippers quite time consuming to use, and you may be best suited to professional clippers. However, if you are looking to maintain an already short cut, these clippers may be up to the task. The clippers are comfortable and easy to use, and are equipped with a rubberised handle to prevent slipping should your hands be damp or have product on them. When using the clippers, be sure to hold the clippers towards the base, as you may find that you knock the selector out of place if you hold the clippers near the blade. The clippers are lightweight and compact, and the perfect size for slipping into a travel bag. Providing they are full charged, you can wave goodbye to large, heavy, corded clippers, should you be travelling. To conclude, if you require clippers to maintain an already short cut, or need 'travel clippers', this product is perfect for you. However, if you regularly have long ethnic hair, you may be more suited to professional clippers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice lightweight hairclipper

I quite often give my hair a little trim on the back and sides, just to prolong the time between going to the barbers. My current hair clipper is clunky, heavy, and has an annoying wire that plugs into the mains and gets tangled up and wraps around you. It also has several attachments which always go missing. So when I heard BzzAgent were offering me to try out the new Braun HairClipper I jumped at the chance. The new Braun HairClipper comes in attractive packaging that displays the clipper with the benefits printed on the outside. Once unpacked, I was surprised how lightweight and premium the clipper looked. Even better, it's rechargeable so I don't need have an annoying wire getting in the way!! It has a neat smart trimming attachment that slides up and down that provides you with eight different lengths to cut the hair. This is so handy as it means I don't lose any of the attachments now. The attachment is a transparent blue plastic, which at first I thought looked a little flimsy, but it's sturdier than I initially thought. The clipper effortlessly cut my hair and was a breeze to use, leaving my hair evenly trimmed. The blades are advertised as being lifetime lasting sharp blades, so time will tell. It has two sealed batteries that give you 50 mins of 100% constant power, and you're also able to wash it under the tap, so it stays nice and clean I'm really impressed by the nice little clipper, it's really going to make life so much easier! Job's a good un

I've never really expected much from a hair clipper... I think the ability to clip hair is pretty much all that's required. And for years I've been using a cheap market bought clunky lump of a thing. It was a tenner and kept my hair short so I didn't even consider getting anything else. But I received a free hair clipper from Brain and have already put my old one in the bin. It's cordless, it's light, it's water resistant and it does the job cleaner and faster. If nothing else I'm pleased to get rid of the risk of electrocution I used to have running an extension cable to the bathroom. I like how straightforward to use it is. There're no options or settings other than length and the guide stays to your desired length even after you replace the grill. To clean it after I simply ran it under the tab. It seems solid and robust and I get the impression it'll last for years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Hair Clipper - An excellent useful tool!

I received a Hair Clipper for free from Braun to try, and it did not disappoint. When it arrived I decided to look for chances to put it through its paces. Firstly, although this is a head hair clipper, I had grown out a beard for a few weeks since I found out I was trying this item. I usually use a foil razor with a small clipper attachment to clear the bulk of my beard before wet shaving, but decided to try this instead. I removed the large adaptable comb and opted for a 3mm length. This item trims beard hair with ease and I would go so far as to say it should be marketed for such use too! This 3mm length was also brilliant for trimming down fine hairs on the back of my neck enough not to see them, but it wasnt quite the standard that you would get from a barber. Next, my housemate has quite long hair, and gets short whispy and curly hairs around the base of the head. We decided to try and tidy those up ourselves using this tool, and it worked fantastically! We used a longer setting - 12 mm - as we didn't want it to be obviously short, just neatened up. Finally, I keep my hair short around the back and sides, and asked my barber on my last visit what length he cut. So recently having grown out my hair for a couple of weeks, my housemate used the 6 mm comb to tidy up my back and sides. The comment was it went through the hair like butter and it was fast too! I think it was finished in under 3 minutes. So in short, this tool is really useful for a whole host of applications whatever your hair length. I have only rated this 4 stars however as there was one small downside. The box states it can be washed, but when we did it it seemed to fill small areas on the shaver with water meaning it was very hard to dry afterwards- Not ideal if you want something you can clean and throw back in the cupboard for next time, and makes it feel a little less easier to keep in top notch condition. Decent Product, with useful functions.

As far as hair clippers go, this is a decent product with some useful features. Really simple to use, with a decent battery life- this provides a simple no fuss product that delivers a good result. I am not blessed with a great deal of hair so my settings are those at the lower end. Never the less the clippers offer a really unique feature that guards against embarrassing errors. The memory system that prevents you going too short is very clever and easy to set as well. I have friends that have made this error, so it's great to see a feature that prevents this happening. The cut is as you would expect, precise, clean and very straightforward. The clippers are waterproof which makes cleaning easy as well. The only drawback I see is the charging. The clippers don't come with a mains charger so you are reliant on charging using the typical bathroom sockets. Besides this minor drawback they are a decent set of clippers that we will serve you well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Hair Clipper HC5010

This probably isn't aimed at me

I should start this review by being very clear - I do not think that I'm the sort of person who this product is aimed at. That'll come into play very soon. I do not have a beard - I find once my facial hair reaches a certain length, my face gets very itchy and flaky, and I don't get on at all with electric razors. Only a wet shave with a sharp razor is suitable for my particular skin type it would seem. I also do not cut my own hair. I did at one point experiment with this, thinking it would save us money, when my other half bought a "Babyliss for Men" hair cutting kit, which was basically a big circular clipper you would run all over your head to get an even length. Needless to say, getting an even length with anything circular on an uneven surface is not possible, and the resulting mess (we had to put tarps down on the floor to catch the hair), not to mention poor battery life which started to slow the device down as soon as you used it, meant that this kit soon fell into disuse. The Braun Hair Clippers that I received free from Braun to review, did then have this beat at least. The regular clipper form is easier to handle than a massive circular thing, and the plastic guide you use to adjust the length is the extra additional accessory which makes this the perfect "in between" device when comparing the two. The Babyliss device used plastic guides to adjust hair length too, but you were limited to just three possible sizes, where the control with the Braun Clippers is much more granular. The Braun Clippers are also extremely powerful and well made. It arrives fully charged, and the cutting power is very impressive. It's probably just as well it comes with charge out of the box, because the charging cable is the type that will only fit in a shaving socket, (which I do not own) and no adapter. The clippers feel good in the hand. They have some nice weight to them, and are well balanced, giving you a nice even and steady control. I also very much like the blue and black colour scheme. The ability to remove the plastic guide is also a nice touch. Onto the bad then - as I mentioned, I don't have a beard, and I don't cut my own hair, so my first dilemma was how exactly do I review this thing? I have to find some way to test them out! I have to admit, there was a moment when I considered taking them to my local barbers and asking them to cut my hair with it! Thinking about this did highlight one shortcoming of these clippers though. When I get my hair cut, I usually just ask for a "Number three, back and sides", which is the length I like on those areas. The Braun Clippers only show you the length in milimeters, and I have absolutely no idea what a "Number 3" equates to with this device. It would've been nice if there was some equivalent measurements on the guide. Abandoning that idea, I decided to see what most people use their clippers for, and found some use them for shaving, which hadn't occurred to me. I attempted to shave my five days worth of stubble, but the results were less than favourable. I removed the plastic guide so as to get the closest cut, and ran the clippers over my cheeks. Within seconds, the clippers were showered with white dead skin flakes, and no matter how hard I tried, no hair was removed. It would seem that even on the lowest setting, the clippers are not a close enough shaving implement to make a dent even in five days worth of growth (and my hair grows FAST and thick). The reaction from my skin was also quite a shock - much worse than I get with electric razors, although similar (and why I don't use them, as a rule). My skin is obviously not suitable for this type of application. Finally, I decided my sideburns could do with taking up, so I fitted the guide, set to the lowest setting, and ran them part-way up my head. I was filled with the kind of instant regret that only comes from doing something drastic and irreversible! The hair came peeling off very quickly, but quite a bit shorter than I was expecting. There's no doubting the cutting power and strength of this device, but for a moment I was really worried that I'd made a mess of myself. Luckily I managed to get the sideburns even, and it didn't look that bad once the initial fear had passed. Washing the clippers afterwards was a breeze, as the whole thing is washable, and I didn't find that process fiddly at all. So there you have it - some great hair clippers - powerful, balanced and well made - but not suitable for shaving with, and definitely not for me purely out of personal preference! Great at home hair clippers from Braun

I received Braun hair clippers for free from Braun to try and I was very pleased with them. The clippers look really professional and neat for at home hair clippers, the blue and black colours make them stand out. They come with a hair comb clip on which has 8 lengths to choose from. The comb is easy to attach and take off if you wish to use without. It's really sturdy so doesn't slip off or anything. Hair getting stuck in the clippers and comb isn't really a problem, which is good. They come with a cleaning brush and oil and they are fully washable. The charge lasts for up to 50 minutes. The clippers cut hair really well and are pretty much fuss free. In a sentence, the clippers are great for someone who wants a basic hair shave and are fuss free. Great Hair Clipper but needs a few changes

Well what can i say from a name like Braun i didnt expect it to be useless as i currently use there shaver series and have to say there is no other shaver that compares to them so it was interesting to try there clipper range. The blades are sharp and have to say look a lot lot more durable and longer lasting than any other clippers i have used. The battery also has a long use time as i only usually got about 20 or so minutes from my babyliss hair clipper with this one i can get my hair cut and use it 2 more times to trim my stubble before a wet shave all from one charge. DOING HEAD HAIR - The trimmer cuts with ease when doing long hair it doesant get stuck like other brands the only place it does get stuck is in the movable trimmer head that set the sizes but its easy to remove. Overall cutting hair on my head was a absolute breaze with this clipper and gave me a great result. STUBBLE FACIAL HAIR/BEARDS - When trimming stubble facial hair before a shave this trimmer for some reason seems to not cut as good which is strange as when it comes to doing longer hair it seems to do it with no problem. I assume this has to do with maybe the way in which the blades are placed when using no guide and are maybe fixed to a longer length. When i use my babyliss clipper this trims my stubble to a very small amount making it easier to have a wet shave. VERDICT - Overall the clipper excellent and does what it says and just requires a few minor tweaks here and there for doing facial hair but to be honest thiss clipper seems more branded towards maybe head hair and if so Braun has done a great job once again. For this reason of the trimming of beard something i do use very often i have to give it only 4 out of 5 so its only just missed out on the 5th star because of this reason. If your looking for a great head hair trimmer then i would look no further than this one.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun HC5010 Clippers

I got this product for free as part of trial to review and give feedback, so here goes. Firstly it's well presented, and looks like a high quality product. It has a sleek black finish and is easy to hold and use. This is because it's compact and easy to hold and fit in your hand. It’s very easy to manoeuvre around curves if you want to use it on your head. For the most part these are very good clippers. The box includes one adjustable cutting comb (with 8 length settings), a cleaning brush and some oil as well as the power cable. With the comb attached the minimum cutting length is 3mm. If you want a shorter cut, you use it without the comb. In use I found it very good indeed. It cuts well and the comb is far easier to adjust and take off than some other clippers I've used. I really like the fact that the unit is washable too. When I mentioned it to some friends, they too were impressed by the washability feature. I had of course disclosed to them that I was reviewing a free product. it is supplied with a 2 pin plug to use in a shaver socket as a corded unit, but can also be used cordless. The battery lasts 50 minutes after a full charge – enough for a thorough cut or trim! Other shavers I have had in the past lose their ability to hold their charge so I’d be interested to know if this is the case with the Braun clippers as well. Overall a nice product and one worth having in your bathroom cupboard! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good quality device, not so great for beards

Before reviewing the Braun Hair Clipper, I decided to give my facial hair a couple of weeks of growth, to really put it through its paces. (I don't trust myself to cut my actual hair, I'll leave that to the pros and here will focus on the facial topiary). So I started off with a beard of about 25mm, a moustache about half that length, and side growth that was just long enough to grab between your fingertips. The product packaging was pretty good, with the clipper kept in a separate compartment to the charging cable (which is sadly a European plug instead of a British one), cleaning brush, oil and instructions. The instructions were concise and well-written, and the clipper itself was easy to manipulate. The included short-length adapter was easily adjusted between its settings, or removed entirely. I began by tackling my now-unkempt beard. I chose a length of 16mm and the clipper made short work. I dropped the length to 9mm for the moustache, but quickly found that - like all hair clippers I have tried beforehand - the device was a little too unwieldy to easily get between my upper lip and my nose. I had to drop to 6mm to get a cut I was happy with, which resulted in a slightly untidy look. I ended up having to do some fine tuning with small scissors afterwards. I then removed the adapter to attack my sideburns, chinstrap, neck growth etc. The overall quality of the cut wasn't bad, but it wasn't as short as I'd liked. It left me looking like I'd not shaved for a couple of days. If someone was wanting to maintain a bald head with this clipper, they would need to finish the job with a razor. A good point in its favour is that, compared to some clippers which leave a rough end to the hairs, the cut was pretty clean and neat, giving a nice feel to the beard. Cleaning the clipper was pretty easy - simply remove the adapter and rinse under a tap. Unfortunately, unlike some higher-end clippers, this one didn't have any built-in way of containing cut hair. Many clippers now contain a vacuum to suck up the majority of the hairs, but in this case the ones that didn't end up clinging to the clipper wound up down my arm, chest and all over the sink, resulting in a larger clean-up than if I'd just used scissors - if I had used scissors to trim, I would have had a handful of hair from each cut, easily disposed of. This I'm sure is not such a problem for cutting head hair, as this is normally done over an easily-cleaned floor or a disposable mat, but it's not so great for facial hair. It gets a point back for taking easy care of my monobrow, though. It's a shame that, unlike my previous Remington clipper, it didn't come with a travel bag that could double as a wash bag. That would be very handy, and didn't make the Remington expensive. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this over a specialised beard trimmer, although I have no problem believing it's more than adequate for casual use on head hair. It's okay but wouldn't buy

Razor itself is okay but found it didn't cut that well, meaning I had to touch up my shave with my regular electric shaver, not something I would want to buy if I'm honest [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Tidy Trimming

Thanks for sending me the Braun Hair Clipper. I haven't used an electric clipper for over 15 years and back then I had a really negative experience. The clipper you sent me however is excellent. I found it very easy to use, very easy to clean and it stays charged for plenty of time. I can't comment on how long the blades stay sharp for, but I'm hoping that I'm going to get many years use out of this handy little tool. I would add a picture, but my wife and I have just had a baby; I don't exactly look my nest at the moment! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great all round hair trimmer!

Thanks to Braun I was given this product to try for free, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. The Trimmer arrived in attractive looking packaging and when opened looked like a good solid trimmer. The only negative I had before trying it was that the charging cord only fits a shaving socket and doesn't come with a 3 pin plug (Only a minor issue compared to how well made the trimmer is). When trying it for the first time I was really impressed, changing the length was really easy! no need to change the blades just slide the built in blade up or down to the required length!. Also being a cordless trimmer I had concerns over the battery lasting a full cut, however the trimmer was still going strong 30 minutes later without the need for a charge. It trimmed through my hair well and didn't have any issues at all (A rather expensive trimmer I used to have froze every 10 minutes and needed cleaning). I really was impressed and this made up for the small inconvenience of having to buy a plug adaptor! I wasn't the only one impressed either! My friend who was cutting my hair for me is now trying to find one in the shops for her partner too! All in all a good, solid and reliable cordless trimmer. My braun experience

On receiving my shaver I didn't think it would work as the postman threw it over the back gate and it had also been raining that day. Luckly it was working. But as the hair clippers where free from braun, I can't complain I plugged the shaver in to charge for a few hours, from that charge I have managed to shave my head and also trim my stubble twice, still got power in but sounds like it wants charging. I find it good that with the guard attached you just slide it up or down, unlike my other shaver that has loads of attachments. I take the attachment off to shave my stubble. My facial hair grows quickly, so I have to shave every couple of days or if I leave it longer it is uncomfortable to shave, so with this shaver I can cut it shorter and then go over with my razor and it more comfortable and I don't have to shave a regular. Only problem I have at the moment is when I go to press the power button, I end up adjusting the height on the guard, as it is just above the power button. But I think I will get use to it after a few more uses. You also don't get any scissors, which I find useful when cut my hair. The shaver is also cordless which means you can cut your hair anywhere, you don't have to be near a plug socket, it also makes it easier to handle. Not bad. used as a general trimmer

When i received my free hair clipper from braun, with it being new i expected more, an advancement on anything I may have used in the past as Braun have been around for an age and I have used a huge range of clippers in my time surely their must be an advancement in technology.... answer not really. Its a decent set of clippers, plug is a pain as its a euro plug which it 2 pinned so had to buy an adapter to turn it into a 3 pinned plug, so couldn't use it straight out of the box. It has a trim length adjuster on the device itself which i have to say feels a bit cheap and flimsy and could be broken very easily which would take away 80% of the devices adaptability. and then theirs the blades , typical blades really although with a long lasting claim that I can't really comment on as i have had the device 2 weeks, so that just leaves the battery, which is quite good, it will last a decent time from what i can tell, it has never run out on me and never had diminished power after a while. All in all a good shaver, not great which for me will come down to how much it would cost, £10-£20 good shaver £20-30 ok may be a little disappointed £30-£50 rubbish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Does a job

These look sleek with their space grey handle and blue shears and are chunky to hold too. They're not very weighty, however, which I was expecting and prefer from my hair clippers. This lack of weight may have hindered hair cutting also, although I'm no professional! The size guide is easy to change with a quick press of the button and slide up and down. Haven't quite got the hang of the locking button though - the guide slipped at one point. Great idea that they're chargeable and ready to go! Makes portability much easier without bothering with the cable. Was able to get a better look in the mirror because of this than I do normally. The blade was sharp but to be honest they weren't great at giving me a consistently good cut all over. I spent longer than I do normally and had inconsistently cut hair all over. Had to go over with a trusty old hair clipper afterwards. My hair is a bit difficult to cut though; it's tufty and goes in all directions. These clippers are more suited to my stubble that I grow from time to time; I'll keep them for that. Overall, a good looking product with some usefulness but not as a replacement for a more robust clipper! Great that Braun gave me these as a freebie though! Braun HC5010 HairClippers - with ingenious adjustable comb guide.

I have been luck enough to have been sent one of these great new clippers free from Braun. Bonus, right! Before receiving it I had not considered replacing my trusty old Wahl clippers, but after using the Braun, i'm glad to have it and the old clippers are already in the bin. Its not without room for improvement, but I score it highly on many fronts and it at the end of the day, it cuts perfectly. By far the best feature on these clippers is the adjustable guide/comb. On my trusty Whal I had a box of about 10 different comb guides, which lets face it, you only tend to use 2 or 3 max!. This little fella has the guide attached and with a push of the button can be adjusted from 3mm to 24mm (8 settings), or removed entirely for the close shave areas - (which my Fiancee is now banned from doing after a horrible right angle incident). Here'e a list of honest pro's and cons on what I feel you need to know before buying these clippers: + Adjustable guide comb (I can't stress how much how useful this is) + Aesthetics (Looks and feels really good, feels quality, not cheap and nasty by any means) + Easy to clean (Doesn't get a load of hair clogged in it like some clippers can, rinse clean) + Quiet (more like a humming bird, rather than a jack hammer) + Compact (once charged can easily be chucked in a wash bag and used all week) - A charging cradle would make it better - Only an American plug supplied (which is cool if you only want to charge in the bathroom) My verdict is 4/5. I would definitely recommend the Braun and it is a huge improvement on the standard clippers I used to own, missing out on 5/5 solely to the fact that I was spoilt with a charging cradle before, and a UK plug would also be more convenient. Braun Hair Clipper HC 5010

I received my Braun Hair Clipper HC 5010 free from Braun. Firstly the charge, about four hours to initially fully charge. Once charged I found with its dual battery the power was strong and constant to the blades. Other clippers I have used fail to hold enough charge to be useful without staying plugged in. The clippers also feature an easy slide length setter. I was able to use the Braun Clipper to cut my beard successfully. I used the second shortest of the settings and achieved a very good finish. You can also take the guard off to trim like a razor to tidy things up. The clipper was easy to wash after use. I found for my short head and beard hair the longer lengths unnecessary, I wish it came with more variation for shorter lengths. As Clippers go it looks the business and functions perfectly. As I mentioned the only change I would make is for more incremental adjustments at shorter lengths. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Unsure about the grades

Okay first off the clipper looks great, is very easy to use, great charge right out of the box and I like the guard attachment that makes it really easy to switch grades. What I wasn't happy with is the grade selection. I did my sons hair, he usually has a number 3 at the barbers or with our other clippers. A number 3 on this one made him look nearly bald! Braun Hair Clipper

I have received this Braun Hair clipper from Braun for free. I have used it to trim the hair on my arms. It worked very well, trimmed the hair evenly throughout. The clipper was very easy to use and has a good grip. One thing I really like about this clipper is it comes with one hair comb that can be used throughout all of the 9 settings. Which means you don't have to change combs which is very frustrating with other hair clippers. First time charging can take quite a long time but other than that its a great hair clipper. I also like the idea of it being fully washable. The blades can be washed which is very handy for keeping the clipper clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Stew's review on Braun hair clippers

I was sent the Braun hair clippers free of charge to test the product. I ensured my beard was of adequate length to review the product well. The rate of cut is outstanding compared to my standard beard trimer the cut was also good with no snagging. The only down fall was the ability to adjust the length of cut to a desired range. My current trimers allow .1 mm cut adjust which is ideal for me because my normal cut length is 4.5 mm. The Braun clippers only allow for a 3mm adjust so i was struggling for my desired length as it went from 3 – 6 mm. Battery life is good and it looks like it could stand the test of time for durability. Overall a sound product but fails in respect for my desired length range. Great first pair of Hair Clippers

I have 2 young Twin boys, who for the time being we cut their hair (I know lots of playground jokes come to mind!) anyhow their hair needs cutting every 4-6 weeks and we doubt that they would sit nicely at the barber's... Increasingly I have found it becoming more and more difficult and time consuming to cut the back and sides, so needless to say when I was offered the chance of trying these Braun Hair Clippers for free I jumped at it. This is the first pair of clippers I have used and was a little nervous at the thought of using them. Anyhow, unboxing them it was clear how easy they would be to select the correct length with the sliding grading mechanism. Furthermore as it was a battery operated set of clippers also made them easier to use as there isn't a trailing cable to worry about - especially important when using these on children who don't want to sit still! On to the use of them, I was a little unsure on what length to start with in order to get the right length of hair, so I started with the longest setting '24', which to be honest didn't take much off and left the hair too long. I therefore worked down the settings one by one to get to the desired finished length. This was easy enough to do as the sliding grading mechanism made this easy and not at all fiddly - no changing of attachments needed. In no time at all we were done and I couldn't believe how much quicker the clippers made the job. I was a little concerned that the boys wouldn't like the 'buzzing' around their heads and that the batteries may not last out. However, neither needed to be a concern, there was plenty of power in the batteries to cut the hair of boy my boys and neither were bothered by the buzzing as this set of clippers were nice and quiet... I would therefore thoroughly recommend this product to clipper 'virgins', they were very easy to use, made the job much quicker and left the boys looking really smart. I don't think I am going to dread 'haircut' Saturdays quite so much going forward! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Performance and design excellent, however, please add a storage container

I have been using the Braun hair clipper, which I have received from Braun for free, for two weeks now, and it's time for a re-cap! The hair clipper comes in a neat box with a hair comb, a little bottle of oil, a brush for cleaning purposes and a power cable (beware though, as you will need a shaving port in your bathroom to use it while charging). The design of the product is very intuitive and you get to understand all the functions very easily. It's smaller in size compared to similar products I have used in the past and doesn't feel cheap in the hand - despite being a budget product. I have used the clipper both for head hair and facial hair and have been happy with the results. Usually I am going to the hairdresser every two weeks, so this product has already saved me a few pounds. More complicated hair styles are however tricky to achieve unless you have hair dressing skills. I have used the clipper on myself as well as on other family members who have various levels of hair thickness and the results have been consistent. It has eight length settings which makes it very flexible, and additionally you can also take the comb off for an even tighter cut. All in all, the hair clipper is an excellent value product. The design is neat and the performance is very good. What is missing however, is a storage container which would have garnered the final star. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice clippers

These are nice little clippers that do what they should, they don't tug or pull the hair. I quite like the set & forget length with indicators on the side of the unit which runs from 3 - 24mm. I have used these to trim my beard and to shave my head with & without the safety guide, they don't clog up like others I have used but can easily be rinsed under the tap with no issue. The unit does feel a bit cheap in the hand but it is light & easy to use & has a rubber grip under the handle so it won't slip out of your hand. On the battery these run continuosly for around an hour which is plenty for my use but they can also be used from a shaving socket which is handy with a 2 meter cable & recharge in a couple of hours. In the box was a little bottle of oil & a brush for cleaning the blades, although I am dissapointed that there was no bag to keep all the stuff together, so the brush may get lost if using for traveling etc. I received my Clippers free from Braun for the purpose of this review but I would be happy if I had of bought these myself. Nice little clippers

I was sent this beard and hair trimmer free from Braun to test, handy as my facial fuzz was just about getting to the "small animals can hide in it" stage. The trimmer arrived in a neat little box, well sealed at the top, containing the trimmer itself, the short cut length selector attached, instructions, charging cable, a small brush for cleaning and some light machine oil for maintaining the blades. It does not come with a storage bag. The cable supplied has a two prong plug which requires either a shaver socket or an adaptor. The cable is around 2 metres long so it should be enough for most people. Instructions include a number of languages with a fold out section so the diagrams can be seen with any language being read. The instructions are fairly clear. The trimmer requires an initial 8 hour charge and the batteries need to be discharged fully every so often (but not each charge), after the first charge you can use the trimmer while it's charging or a full charge should take about 2-3 hours. There is a light on the handle that glows green/yellow when charging and goes off when it is fully charged. When the battery is almost discharged this light apparently goes red but I haven't seen that yet as the unit still has a good level of charge after doing my beard and hair, even with my bushy beard. A charge is supposed to last 50 minutes of use. The length selector is easy to use (push in and slide). This model comes with the short length selector (3-24 mm) and it is easy to remove for much closer cutting although this was not as comfortable to use as specifically designed detail trimmers. The short selector is easy to remove by just pulling it straight off the cutter (this step isn't actually mentioned in the instructions) and the longer one could be added easily enough. The length selection is retained when the selector is removed. Length can be adjusted in 3 mm increments which is roughly equivalent to grades or eights of an inch. There is another, longer selector available but this model only had the shorter one included. In use on my beard, the trimmer cut well without pulling any of the hairs, it is light and manoeuvrable, easy to move around the face and get to all the areas needed. Hair was removed very well giving a good cut around the face. There were a few areas that needed a couple of passes to get all the hair but that is pretty much what you expect for clippers. It's not very loud but does buzz somewhat. The length guide feels like it is designed for beards as it is short enough to allow movement around my nose, ears and neck. The ends of the length guide are not too sharp and did not dig into my face. Without the length guide the trimmer can be used for some detail work but it does not get close enough to the skin to be used as a razor; it is good enough for hair lines around the ears and defining the neck line on a beard though. The head is a good width for beard especially good for the moustache area, bit narrow for the head. This does mean that you spend longer on the head with this trimmer than other hair clippers with a larger cutting area but it does get the job done. Seems like it's faster than my old clippers and I think I'll be sticking with it for my beard in the future. After use it is easy enough to clean; once you remove the length guide the cutting blades open out easily by pushing on the top of the blade area and the brush gets most hair out. One of the advantages of this model is that you can wash it with running water to get smaller hairs out. A small drop of oil on the blades after they dry and you're good to store the trimmer. The blades are ceramic so should not require sharpening. I've seen the trimmer for sale between £25 and £40 and it is excellent value towards the bottom end of that range although I would still like to see a carry/storage bag and either a UK plug or an adapter. At the top of the price range I would expect these to be included and if I were reviewing it having bought it at the top price point I would knock off a star in the review. As it is, the trimmer is easy to use, especially if you are relatively new to using this style of cutter and I would recommend it, certainly it would be worth looking at if you're in the market. The little grips (only having the box for storage and the plug) aren't enough of a problem for me to drop a star on the rating. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Made with German precision...but left in the hands of a British Novice

As part of Braun's customer testing, I received a free Braun HC5010 Hairclipper, I have never shaved my hair before and but I was due a haircut so asked my next door neighbour (who is a trained hairstylist and barber) to use the clipper. She was suitably impressed with the sleek construction, as her professional ones had a multitude of heads and this has unit has just the one head with an adjustable height gauge at the side. Here's where we got confused, naturally we Brits are used to "blade numbers" rather than millimeter lengths, which is why I was glad I went to my neighbour as we had to get her razor heads out to measure them up against the gauge. We found 3mm is equivalent to a 'blade 1' and each increment of 3mm is another blade increase. When she started to trim my head she found the unit very easy to use and cut through my hair quite cleanly with no snag (as can sometimes happen with new blades). I would recommend this item because of its ease of use and almost idiot-proof design. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The best cordless clipper I've ever used!

This Braun hair clipper is definitely the best cordless one I have ever used, having quite coarse facial hair I usually have trouble trimming and styling my beard as trimmer teeth tend to get stuck, but this one breezed through with no issues whatsoever, and still had enough power left to do both mine, and my sons hair afterwards! The comb is well set up allowing for easy adjustment of length, whilst still being sturdy enough to not suddenly shorten whilst cutting. All in all a wonderful product, that outdoes more both the more expensive, and even most corded alternatives. I may have got this for free, but I would, without a doubt, buy another one if I manage to lose or damage those one! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great product

Was very happy to be accepted for the free Braun hair clipper campaign wasn't sure what to expect as I have tried many products similar and haven't been to happy with them but the item arrived And it was great very simple and uncomplicated it had the shaver, length adjuster and brush (plus the charger) I charged the unit to use Straight away to use as i need to keep little facial hair for work and the Bruan hc5010 was ideal for keeping the stubble very low using no guard, I also managed to get 6 uses without charge and then used it for a hair cut on the same charge and it didn't lose power or performance it states you can get a full 90 minutes use before needing to charge but I haven't got to a recharge yet and have used 7 times over the last week but if needs be you can use it whilst charging which is an added bonus, it didn't pull or get caught on hair worked well for an easy hair cut smooth and effortless with a simple cordless shaver I am impressed with the Braun hc5010 and would recommend to others have already booked the father and step father in for a haircut to after telling them I was using it and found it a very good product. Considering I haven't been to impressed with other chargeable cordless shavers I would highly recommend for others to use as I haven't been to fault it. Hair be gone!

When I learned I was going to be receiving the Braun HC5010 to try and review I was looking forward to trying a new brand. I currently trim my own hair with Philips clippers and have had no reason to change my preferred trimmers. This however wasn't convincing enough for me. Packaging & Apperance: Nice simple packaging shows me what Im really looking for, clippers. However once opened all of the contents fit in the blue accessory box so maybe some wasted space? Clippers them self look good and equally feels comfortable to hold and move across the hairy landscape of my head. The instructions aren't too detailed so the wide world of the webs was consulted to be sure we weren't going to break anything. The using them part: So it all started well untill it found a thicker patch of my hair and the clippers decided to have a tough time cutting through. Hair getting caught in the sides of the clipping comb was an issue after each stroke. On a good point they were very comfortable to use and move around and no cords, bonus! Plenty of charge on them from unboxing to get my hair chopped. I don't have a razor socket in our bathroom and no plug adaptor so I cannot charge them up at the moment. The clipping comb seems to lock its position while in use so no worries of wonky lengths here and there. Aftercare: Easy to clean up and once you have finished carefully removing the clipping comb, you can get rid of the bits caught hiding behind it. Not alot to pack away, a little pouch would have been nice but as said before it all fits into the box containing the accessories so no mess in the bathroom cabinet! So yes its a solid built hair clipper, looks good, feels comfortable and is lighter than it looks. Had some troubled with thicker patches of my hair, lots of what it cuts out gets caught up in the clipping comb sides but the end result is and nice even, clean cut. I want to give it one more star but having used clippers to do my hair for many years now, I can't ignore the little issues I had with these ones I don't have with my current ones. My opinion of the Braun Silk-expert has gone from strength to strength, it's been so easy to use and a delight to try out, I have been delighted with the results over the last 4 weeks and I'm so happy with the fact I am seeing less hair grow and at a slower rate than usual. This is a great product and really has changed the way I feel about IPL in a positive way! Thanks Braun.
