This model has no sideburn trimmer

I bought this Braun 3 as I have had two previous models, with which I have been very happy. This one though has no sideburn trimmer. I can understand why they dropped that, as in my two previous models it was the first part to break. However seeing as that is why I picked up this new shaver I was very disappointed. It's going straight back to the shop -- unused.

Gives a close shave

I was bought my shaver for fathers day last year, and I have used it more than my razor as it gives such a close shave, and as I have to go away a lot with my work it's erect to keep my face clean shaven. Perfect for every day use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

An average shaver for a below average price

I wanted a cheapish shaver, and that's what I got. It lasted a month before I had to apply for a replacement; the battery would not hold it's charge for more than 7 minutes. I also wish I'd chosen a model with a trimmer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good item but bad design

The button is very stiff and doesn't work properly, its too low to fit the outer shell. So when you turn it on and off you have to really press hard. I took the first one back, but the second one was also not manufactured correctly. Otherwise, a good quality shaver. I like the fact that it comes with a charging stand, Philips does not do this.

Didn't use my brains for this.......

Thanks Braun for allowing me to receive the Series 3 3000 for free and all within a few days of accepting the campaign. Normally I just use a wet razor after some poor performance electric razors I've had before. I was reasonably happy with the look and feel of the shaver after taking it out of the box. My only criticism is the universal plastic guard that comes with it is that it doesn't click into place securely, just tapping the edge and it would fall off. On opening the packaging first things first were to ensure it was fully charged so I had to dig out the trusty old charger adapter from the archive as it didn't come with one. After the charge I gave it a go straight away and was impressed by how well it cut the first time. Only criticism here as it's the entry model there's no long hair trimmer.......When using the shaver it didn't catch and pull at the hair as long as it was no more than about 2 days of growth, otherwise the odd pinch now and then. The end result was OK, a few hairs were missed. I have used it every day since receiving just to give a fair report back on it, and the charge seems to last for a while. Thanks again Braun I'll keep using this for as long as it works!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Back once again...

I received this product for free from Braun to test, and I'm rather glad it was a freebie. The shaver only came with a European charger, so now that the battery has run out I can not use it, and I won't be purchasing an adapter for it. The shave... Comfortable, no pulls or pain. But, it does require a few goings over as it doesn't get close enough to justify it as a shave. In conclusion, as a freebie, fine, and for the price its not terrible. As an emergency when travelling this shaver would be fine, but only if a five o clock shadow is your idea of a close shave. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great shaver - better than expected

I received the Series 3 3000 for free and within a few days of accepting the campaign from Braun. I have honestly never been a fan of electric shavers, I normally just use a traditional razor so I wasn't holding out too much hope. I assumed that the product would be the same as others that I have tried, giving an alright result but nothing special. I was impressed with the sleek design when I first opened the box, it certainly looked the part with its black edgy design. I gave it a go straight away and was very impressed by how smooth it was, it didn't catch and pull at the hair at all which I have in the past to be a problem. The finish was great no hairs were missed and my face felt fresh. I have used it every other day since and it is so much easier than a conventional razor. One thing I thought about would be the option to have a normal plug. Not everyone has a plug in their bathroom so I had to get an adapter to charge it. All in all a great product which really surprised me, I'll keep this as long as it works!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Thanks but no thanks.

First of all thanks braun for allowing me to test this product for free. The box looks clean and crisp which makes this product look like an expensive product. This is where the positives stop though. The more i use this product the more disappointed i get with it. It takes longer to get that desired close shave( i have to finish with a manual razor) The product is extremely well made. I would not be recommending this product to another consumer as i think it is not a very good product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

All round greatness!

Having finally received my shaver after delivery issues from Royal Mail, I was pleasantly pleased when opening! The box itself is a simple design, which clearly explained everything you need to know about the product. The colours themselves are 'manly' which is what you'd expect from a mans electric shaver! The shaver itself is lightweight. Ive used electric shavers in the past, which were heavy and clumpy, which I didn't get on with. I've had problems with skin irritation using electric shavers in the past, so I had lost all hope with them! Using the Braun 3000, I've not had these problems. The shaver has left a smooth baby like feel to my face, with only the occasional stray hair left, which could be down to my doing rather than the shaver! The charge time of the shaver is good, with a full charge taking me a couple of hours. Only problem I had with the shaver itself is the battery life, with it only lasting a few shaves, but luckily the charge time helps! All around, I've had a positive experience with the Braun 3000. I've recommended it to a guy at work and would happily recommend it again. Only improvement I would ask for is the battery life! Great Product guys! Nice shaver that just does its job

First of all, I have to say that I have never owned or used an electric shaver of any brand. I tried to use dad’s shaver when I was in the Uni, but it was so painful and evidently useless that I stopped after using it a couple of times and switched (back) to razors. Since then for 10 years I have been either using them, or just a trimmer to maintain short stubble (which was quicker, easier and lately trendier than being just clean shaved). This shaver was a great opportunity for me to give them another chance. Generally speaking, I liked this shaver and very happy to receive it for free to test. It is very comfortable to hold; the rubbery surface means there is no chance for it slip away and either break my sink or get broken. The charge lasts for what seems ages – I have been using it for two weeks now almost every day and have not had to re-charge it. It follows nicely all the curves of the chin and very easy to move around. However, I was not completely happy with it, at least compared to what I was expecting. For once, the shaver feels very heavy. I realised of course, that to make it work there must be a lot of details in it, some metal, and that weighs it down, but I surely expected it to be lighter (remember, I have nothing to compare with and don’t know how heavy or not heavy the other shavers are). I am thinking to take it with me on holidays instead of the usual razors and shaving gel, but I guess it will weigh more (an important thing to consider in our ‘travel lite’ motto life). I also have to add that after a while it does not feel that heavy anymore and ‘saving’ me from liquid-considered shaving gel in my luggage is a great advantage! Again, I might be unjustly comparing with the wet shave, but the shaver does not do its job perfectly. No matter how long I shave, I can still feel the tiny stubble, especially if touching against the hair growth. I suspect it is probably the case with all the electric shavers, but I have been hoping for a little miracle. Even more, it does not shave well under the chin – I spent 5 minutes circling around my neck and still had some hair left untouched. What is worse, those hairs grow and will be even less likely to be shaved the next morning, so I had to take out my old trimmer to get rid of those. What I enjoyed is that it was not nearly as painful as I remembered. If I was quick and careless, it might get uncomfortable but it you do it thoroughly, it is completely pain free. I tried it on 1, 2 and 3-day stubble and it worked perfectly fine for me (except, probably, the under chin area, but even there, if it does not remove hair there, at least there is no pain). In the overall design, I would say the cover that protects the blades doesn’t fit too well. The thing is that it comes off too easily and I am worried about damaging the blades while carrying it in my luggage. I would have liked to see it ‘click’ better and more firmly into the place. And I know that some shavers have a tiny trimmer section as well – I have come to think it is the most useful, and not only for the sideburns or moustache if you have one, but also to those stubborn hairs under the chin that just refuse to be shaved off. If I were to buy a new shaver, I would definitely consider those only with a small trimmer blade on the side. This shaver is very nice overall and I am really happy to own it now! Sun holidays, here I come!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Think I'm a convert

This is the first time I've tried using an electric shaver, thanks to a free sample provided by Braun. I've always wet shaved, because I'd heard that it gave a closer shave. It's true - my normal razor does give a smoother finish, but the Braun Series 3 comes pretty close -- and it's much more convenient, since you don't need water, shaving gel etc. I think it'll be really handy when travelling. I also love the fact that you can just rinse it is under water to clean it. The package also comes with a cleaning brush, which is useful for getting stray hair out of the parts, although it seems well-designed and there aren't that many parts for the hair to get stuck in. It did take a bit of time getting used to it; initially my face felt a bit sore after starting to use an electric shaver, but after about a week of using it it's perfectly fine. OK Shaver, but nothing special

After getting the shaver for free from Braun I wanted to see if I could move from having a beard trimmer to a shaver like this. I've tried wet shaving before but never liked it or had the time so I wanted to see if I could get the wet shave look with this shaver. When I tried using the shaver I found that it pulled on my hair a bit, something which I could deal with in small amounts, but going over the whole of my face and neck was too much pain for me to try repeating it. I found that I got even coverage, but it still wasn't as close as a wet shave so I will keep on using my beard trimmer as that is faster than the Braun shaver. All in all, it's an ok shaver, but it's just not for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Ok, but not great

I received the Braun series 3 3000 shaver free from braun and was excited to use it at first as I normally wet shave to clean up my beard or stubble. The shaver is user friendly and has a good battery life as I have used it 5-6 times and it still seems to want to keep going, and it doesn't seem to irritate the skin as other shavers have. The one negative thing I have to say about the shaver is that it doesn't get to all the hairs I need it to and sother I have had to go over with a razor to finish the job. Changed the way I think about electric shavers...

I was happy to test the Braun Series 3 3000 for free as part of a product trial I was invited to, as I have been interested in picking up a new electric shaver for a while and thought this offered a good opportunity. I haven't had the best experiences with electric shaving systems in the past but was curious to see how the technology had improved and if I would have a better experience. This Braun shaver did not disappoint. One of the problems I have had in the past is skin irritation but there was none of this with the Braun. I was able to use it quickly and easily in the morning before work or for a tidy up before a night out. I would definitely recommend this shaving system to anyone. One of the only drawbacks is that it wouldn't be very effective on longer hairs. It says on the box up to 3 days of growth, but realistically I think this would be 2 days. Perhaps Braun could develop interchangeable heads to get round this if that would offer a practical solution. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Comes close to a good wet shave

I normally stick to wet shaving since I couldn't get on with my wet and dry philishave. Most electric shavers miss a lot of hairs and also leave me with slight razor rash. The Braun series 3 is different. It only takes me a few minutes each morning to "tidy up" before work. The shave is close and so far no burn or in grown hairs. Should you have sensitive skin, don't worry. This is a great shaver. Initially sceptical, but use on a regular basis. I still have at least 1 wet shave a week, because that can never be beaten, but does take about 10 minutes to complete properly. By far the best electric shaver I have used, very happy. Massive Improvement

I was happy to try this Series 3 3000 which I received free from Braun although I was slightly hesitant as past experiences with electric shavers have not been the best but I was looking forward to using this one from this well known brand. I've been using the series 3 3000 for a while now and I must say that its fantastic compared to others I have used in the past. There were none of the downsides that I expected when using it. It was smooth, comfortable, didn't give me razor burn and also easy to clean. I feel that my face is smother for longer when using this Braun compared to wet shaving and I'm happy to recommend this to anyone. The only thing that would make this shaver perfect would be a small clipper to do sideburns but other than that a top product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Close comfortable shave

The Braun 3000s was sent to me for free from Braun to write an unbiased review. The Braun 3000s is a well built shaver with a stylish design. It fits well into the palm of your hand and is a close comfortable shave for daily use. It only takes one hour to charge and a full charge lasts around a week worth of shaving on a daily basis. The Braun 3000s can be used cordless with its built in rechargeable battery and can also be used while connected directly to the mains using the supplied charging cable. There is a battery life indicator which shows you the battery status. The shaver is waterproof which allows for easy cleaning. Just pop off the shaver head and rinse the head and main body under the tap. Allow to dry and you are done. My only negative criticism is that the Braun 3000s does not have a built in beard trimmer to allow to square off my sideburns or trim a longer beard before shaving with the main shaver head. This leads to uneven sideburns as you have no way of trimming the straight edge unlike other Braun shaver models. You also cannot use this razor if you uave anything more than "designer stubble". Overall the Braun 3000s provided a closer and faster shave than my previous Braun 380-4 shaver and I would recommend it to anyone who shaves daily or every couple of days. Excellent alternative to blade shaving!

Let me first say that I am a shaving enthusiast and normally use a double edged (DE) razor. I've been doing this for the last 5 years after suffering from terrible razor burn with the market leading cartridge razors. I received a free Braun Series 3 3000 razor from Braun in exchange for an honest review, so here it is. I've been using this electric razor for a week now and it's very convenient, quick and offers a very good shave (not as good as a DE shave, but 10 times quicker). I've not suffered any of the razor burn that I previously experienced with Gillete razors and it's a very comfortable shave. A short charge will give you a whole weeks worth of shaving, easily. This makes it ideal for taking on holiday or a short break. I wouldn't say that i've totally been converted to electric shaving, you cannot beat a barber shop smooth finish of a proper shave, however I will be using an electric for those days when I just don't have 30 minutes to devote to shaving. I'd wholeheartedly recommend getting this Braun 3000 electric razor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

great shaver

First of all, thank you to Braun for sending this shaver free for me to test. first of all I found the charge time to be really good. ! hour to charge. I shave every 2 days and found that this shaver didn't have any trouble with that. some others i have tried it took me quite a while to shave which on early mornings I do not have time for. I was left feeling fresh faced and didn't need to recharge for my next use which i think is a really good point. over all, this is a fantastic charger and i will be continuing to use it. I also recommended it to my brother in law and some friends from work who were keen to give it a go. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very convienient tool

It's been quite a while since I last used an electronic shaver. I used to have one of the older Braun model several years ago and used it for quite a long while. The main disadvantage of electronic shavers is that they would never shave you as close and well as a traditional "wet" method. And it seems that not much changed in that matter on the market. If you need to look super sharp and clean you should get a traditional razor blade. However, if you don't care so much about extra crisp look, or even if you like your look to be a little rough, that one seems as a very good choice. Long battery life, very good design, easy to handle and operate. Also, the moving blades makes it much easier and quicker to shave. So, it is a very good thing, but as a modern gentleman you should have a classic one at hand. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A good all round shaver

In the interest of disclosure I was sent this from Braun as a promotional item, this does not affect my views and my opinions are my own. I have a full beard and was interested in this shaver to shave my cheeks (on my face :p) and my neck and to generally keep my beard tidy. I usually wet-shave using a safety razor which takes a lot of time and tends to leave the bathroom sink very messy. Since using this shaver is much tidier and more convenient I am able to tend to my beard much more often. The unit apparently affords a trimmer mode, I have yet to discover how this works as it is not immediately obvious and the instructions are not particularly clear. To get the most out of the Braun Series 3 3000 you will have to put time into figuring out how it works by yourself or by reading up online. That's about it as far as extra features go, there are more advanced shavers out there for sure but if all you care about it getting a simple , clean shave then you should defiantly consider this. As with all Braun products, the build of the item is of good quality, it has a soft rubberised finish which provides just the right amount of grip, and it has a decent battery life, I charged mine at the beginning of the week and used it at least once every day and it's still going strong. I would recommend this as a gift for someone new to shaving or as a 2nd Shaver for taking traveling or keeping at work etc. If I could figure out the trimmer mode this product could replace both my stand-alone beard trimmer and my wet razor and shaving creams. Closer than close

Having received my Braun Series 3 3000 for free from Braun, I didn't know what to expect, mainly because I'd never used this type of electric razor before. In the past, I've used electric razors but haven't found them much use as I don't think they give a close enough shave. Well, with the Braun Series 3 3000 I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it a comfortable shave, it was a closer than close shave. What's more, I had no skin irritation afterwards, which is always a bonus! Would I recommend the Braun Series 3 3000? In short - yes. Why? Because it's easy to use and it's effective, i.e. it provides a close shave. What more could you ask for?! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Looks good, bad shave

First of all extremley thankful for receiving this Braun shaver for free, from Braun. This shave looks absolutely beautiful and step ahead of other shavers I've seen. The three heads looks great but lacks movement, I thought it would move a lot more. I think this item is for people who want to shave down there beards to stubble not for people who are looking for a clean shave. It left me looking patchy and I had to use my razor for a cleaner shave. I do not recommend this item for sensitive skin or people of Afro Caribbean descent as it caused me to have a few razor bumps. Disapointing

After receiving my free Braun Series 3 3000 free from Braun I couldn't wait to try it. Upon taking it out of the box I was impressed by the styling of the shaver. A very sleek design and comfortable feel. Light weight and waterproof meaning use was practical and convenient. It was pre charged which was a plus as I don't have an adapter for the 2 pin plug it's is supplied with. After using it for the first time I was left disappointed with the time it took to shave along with the poor quality of shave. No tugging or snagging but not a close shave. I like to stay clean shaven and this does not do the job. I will be going back to my wet shave with a razor I think. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Smart, simple shaver

I received my braun series 3 3000 shaver for free which is brilliant. I tried the razor straight from the box and had charge on it. Used it for 10 mins uses as didn't want to cut my face like I have with other products. It cuts easily with little tugging and is easy to clean once finished. I haven't tried the waterproof side of the product yet but think it's a great idea for men who have little time to get ready. The charge is great. Haven't had to charge it yet and used it from the box for 2 weeks now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Straight out of the box and on to the face!

I received this Braun Series 3 3000 free to test from Braun, which is always nice. The battery came charged which meant I could put it straight to the test. I tested it first dry, and have to say it gives a very comfortable shave. No pulling or tugging on hairs. When I first used it had a beard, so was going to use it to tidy up the edges, around the neck etc. It worked fine, however it did need two or three goings over to get close to a clean shave. The first time over it only trimmed it down to a small stubble. I then disposed of the beard completely, and gave it a couple of days to try again for a complete shave. I also decided to use it in the shower this time, as it is waterproof! Again it was a comfortable shave, no nagging and pulling, but it did still need a few goings over. This isn't too much of a problem, as I was not rushed for time, but could be if someone was. Another slight issue is that it only comes with a 2 pin charger in the box. I do not have an adapter and so when the battery runs out I shall probably not be using the shaver. It didn't leave any nasty rash or irritated skin afterwards, but that could be down to what feels like a soft approach from the shaver itself, almost as if it was designed with more concern lent to it be a comfortable shave, with little irritation rather than getting a good close shave out of it. Not the best

I was really excited to receive the Braun Series 3 3000 free from Braun. The shaver has a really nice weight to it and feels well made. The rubber grips make it easy to hold when wet. The clear plastic cover that protects the cutting head doesn't quite fit so I found it loose in my washbag a few times and the cutting head exposed, maybe a protective bag would prevent this. It comes with a 2 pin charging cable so you may need to purchase a adapter if you don't have one. I charged it before the first use and haven't had to charge it since. The fact that it is 100% waterproof is an added bonus I currently have a beard and have been using a razor to keep my neck line and cheeks neat and tidy. I though that using the Braun would speed up the process but unfortunately this is not the case. I find that the Braun misses a lot of stubble and requires a lot of going over the same areas again and again. Really disappointing. I would rate this a 3/5 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Series 3 3000 Electrical Shaver

When i got my Braun Series 3 3000 Electrical Shaver i was so excited to use it, as i have never used a dedicated electrical shaver before; i have only used hair clippers on my facial hair and i tend to use a razor and i have a wet shave with it. Yesterday, was the first time i used the Braun Series 3 3000 Electrical Shaver. General thoughts was that i was looking forward to use it as it would save me a lot of time however this wasn't the case unfortunately. As i began to use it seemed to be shaving my facial hair quite well, at least the top layer of my facial hair. After shaving the top layer of my facial hair of, i noticed quite a few strands of hair that had not been removed so i went over them again with the shaver. I had to do this quite a few times to remove the remaining strands of facial hair. I also had to apply a lot of pressure to the shaver to try and remove these remaining strands. After doing this and still noticing a few remaining strands i gave up with the shaver and started to use my original razor and have a wet shave with it so i could finally remove the remaining stubborn facial hair strands. Once i had finished with my electrical shaver, my face felt very rough, dry and cut up, so to soothe this i decided to use some after shave balm. The next day, in the morning, when i was brushing my teeth and looking in my bathroom mirror i yet again still noticed some stubborn facial hair strands that either i had missed or the electrical shaver had missed. Seeing that i was in a rush to get to work, as i am most mornings i decided hesitantly to use the electrical shaver again. I still had to apply a lot of pressure to make sure the shaver remover the final few bits of facial hair strands. Overall, i was quite disappointed with the performance of the electrical shaver, i was expecting a much better performance as Braun is meant to be such a big and reliable brand name when it comes to shavers. Personally, i think i will continue to use my standard razor and have wet shaves from now on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Series 3

Looks nice, feels nice, doesn't do the job whatsoever.

I've used this Braun Series 3 3000 electric razor a few times now and wanted to give it another review after an initial disappointment. The razor itself is boxed nice, it comes with a power cable for shaving points (No 3 pin adapter). It charged really fast and was ready to use in no time. Sadly this is where the problems start. I previously used hair clippers (set to 0) to shave, it never got rid of the hair completely but left even and very very short, good enough for sure. I flirted with a wet shave, but regardless of how many blades/handles/unicornpowers the razors have they always leave my skin in tatters. So the Series 3 3000 arrived at a good time for me. Sadly, in use this razor is terrible. It feels like it should be cutting, it feels good in the hand, it runs smooth along the skin, but it simply doesn't shave. It leaves patches all over my neck, hairs are cut at a variety of different lengths. It leaves my skin OK even after hundreds of passes, but then anything would if it wasn't doing what it's meant to do! Tried using it from all angles at a variety of different pressures but it just doesn't do the job. This razor has no extra grooming blade for side burns or edges, I guess it's designed for people who want an entire (patchy) shave. I'm ditching this and going back to hair clippers. Braun sent me this razor for free to try. (They can have it back if they want it.) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Poor, going back to clippers.

Recently decided to move to wet shaving, particularly of my neck. It didn't go well sadly, I've got quite sensitive skin and it resulted in a harsh rash every time. I previously used just ordinary hair clippers which did a reasonable job, just sometimes not close enough. This Braun Series 3 3000 arrived on my doorstep free of charge from Braun to try. I was pretty excited, thinking this could be the answer to my shaving woes. Sadly again, this thing is no where near good enough. It shaves say 80% of my beard hairs, leaving random patches of difficult to reach ones. I honestly look ridiculous after using it. I tried shaving over and over and over and over the same patch, but it just doesn't get everything. I tried from different angles, different amounts of pressure, nothing. This isn't the answer and I'm going back to hair clippers for now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Disappointing

Like most men, I shave regularly. I strive for the perfect shave, and have used a few different methods over time. I have tried a few electronic razors, the typical pricy disposable razor, and settled in the last few years on simply trimming my beard very short when I feel lazy, and shaving retro-style with a double-edge safety razor complete with soap and shaving brush when I want to be smooth as silk. This product allowed me to have another go with a supposedly easy to use electronic option, none of which have previously sold me on electric razors. The first impressions of this product are excellent. The box is fairly standard, and the unboxing experience isn't like unveiling the latest gadget from Apple, but the in-hand feel of the Braun S3 3000 is excellent. It feels solidly built and had a reassuring weight to it that portrays a premium product. There is a comfortable rubber grip along the sides and a rubberised on/off button on the front. The rubberised finish not only feels great, but presumably contributes to the waterproofing that also features in this product. Included in the box is the shaver with head, an instruction manual, and a shaver socket charger. This is a little disappointing as many manufacturers are switching to the ubiquitous USB standard for charging, including my latest Philips toothbrush. This would have been an excellent addition for those who travel and don't want to carry hundreds of different cables with them. For the purposes of trying this shaver I allowed my facial hair to grow just a little; the sort of length that you'd expect an electronic shaver to deal with. As I've had bad luck with electronic shaving product in the past, I decided to check in the manual to make sure I was doing everything right. The recommendation is to stretch the skin you're trying to shave, and keep the razor perpendicular to the skin. Sounds easy enough! Unfortunately the reality isn't as straightforward as the theory! Even when following the instructions on the package quite closely, the razor didn't appear to do very much to begin with. I was following the grain of the beard, but nothing! Eventually I started to notice some hair removal and it seemed to do a good job initially. I shaved my whole face, and probably found the razor the most comfortable of all of the electronic models I've tried in the past. I felt a little discomfort in that the head of the razor got quite warm and this didn't feel great against my skin. More disappointment came when I examined my face to find that there was still a load of patchy hair all over my face. Some areas fared better than others, but this was hardly a clean shaven look. I tried to go over patchy parts again, but the razor was really quite warm by now, and my skin starting to feel quite irritated. I finally gave up and got out the old trusty shaving soap and brush and finished the job the old fashioned way. It seems like Braun have made a well made, good quality product, but it doesn't seem to do a very effective job of actually removing hair from my face! I also got my husband on board to try it out, and he didn't fare much better than I did. Perhaps we're just not suited to this type of shaving. I received this product for from from Braun for the purposes of review. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Not quite the shaver you're looking for

First of all, thank you to Braun for sending this shaver free for me to test. I found this shaver to be acceptable. Unfortunately that's a high a praise as I can give it. The reasons for which are as follows: 1) It's great on short hair, but without the trimming facility on the back like some of the others models you can't really shorten the hair sufficiently for this shaver to cut it. 2) The plug on the charging cable has somehow got bigger than my older Series 3. You will not get it into a shaving socket if the socket is recessed. 3) Somehow it just doesn't cut as well as my 3 year old Series 3. It's not a close a shave, although the cutting head is slightly improved with a comb around the centre cutting blade. It's fine for the price I would say, just be aware that it might not fill the gap of a more expensive or higher-end model in the same range. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Series 3 3000

Firstly the shaver feels well made and fits nicely in the palm of my hand. The operating instructions were clear and easy to understand. My first try was a dry shave and it irritated my skin and seemed to take longer than expected to get the shave I expected. The second time around I tried it in the shower and was much better and didn't irritated my skin but still did take some time to get that perfect shave. I would have liked this product to come with a trimmer. Apart from that it's a good wet shaver just takes a bit longer than expected to get the niggle hairs. Face like a baby

I used electric shaver before and normal razors, but this Braun 3000 series is brilliant. It doesn't leave red skin after and the shave is very fine and soft. I used it only on dry shave and i liked it. I don't have a strong beard, I shave once a week and is perfect for me. It would have been nice if it would had hair trimmer, only 3020s and 3030s series have this. It is very easy to use, fast and the battery is brilliant on-the-go shave option. I have received this product from Braun for free for testing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Solid Shaver for Regular Use

I received this shaver for free from Braun in order to review the model. Having sensitive skin I have struggled in the past with some shavers giving me a rash, however after using it over the last couple of weeks I found it to be a good shaver for regular use giving me no irritation at all. The shaver itself has comfortable rubber grip sides and 3 shaver heads which bend well around the contours of your face. After one charge it lasted for 4-5 shavers on full power. It should be noted that the shaver plugged into a 2 socket bathroom plug - if you don't have one or want to charge elsewhere you'd need to buy an adaptor. The only negative I can find is that it does not work as well with larger growth so you would need to trim that first before using this product. That said if you want a regular use shaver that gives a close comfortable shave with no irritation then this is a great choice! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very Good Compact Close Shave!

Let me start by saying I was very excited to receive the Braun Series 3 3000 and even more excited to receive it for free from Braun. I've never used a close shaver before and with Braun being the market leaders I knew this would be a great shaver to test, and I wasn't disappointed in fact I'm quite impressed. Firstly, the shaver came in a cool, elegant compact box that gave natural feeling of happiness to hold and open. There was no disappointment, when picking up the shaver, it was quite clear to see/feel the quality. I used this shaver to produce a close shave on my cheeks and I worked fantastic. I only rate 4 stars because I have no prior experience using these shavers so I'm unsure whether they're suppose to work with hair greater than 3mm either way this shaver struggled. Now the hairs short there is no problem and it really does produce a close shave. In terms of battery, the shaver charges quickly and I haven't had to recharge it since (5 weeks ago). If you are considering a shaver like the Braun Series 3 3000 I recommend trying this one, I really enjoyed using it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Overall a great electric shaver

I received my shaver for free from Braun and have used it for a week now. Before this one I was using a Philips PT720 shaver, which is a rotary head. And I alternate between my electric shaver and a normal razor blade. The reason why I alternate is that I find electric shavers just don't shave as close as a razor blade. And unfortunately this Braun series 3 3000 still doesn't shave as close as my razor blade. However having said that, I can honestly say that this is a great shaver. Compared to my Philips it feels much smoother against my skin and although I haven't timed it, I reckon it's a quicker shave for me. It feels slightly heavier but it's a smaller more compact model making it more user friendly I feel. I particularly love how easy it is to clean! The head pulls off easily and with a quick rinse it's clean as a whistle. What's great about it is that once the head is off there isn't lots of little nooks and crannys where hair can get stuck it's a mostly flat surface which is fantastic. The charge time is quick and so far after a week of use it shows no signs of needing another charge. All in all I really like this shaver and although I won't be binning my razor blade just yet it's definitely the best electric razor I've ever owned. A little soft touch of hi-tech

I got a great chance this morning because I got a new Braun Series 3 3000 for free to test, sent to me from Braun. The first impression about the product was amazing because the box was so light. Inside the box you will find the wall charger, the shaver,a little brush and the manual. Once the shaver was in my hands I felt a so nice feeling due to the low weight and to the rubber on the sides that provide a really good grip. After I removed the safety cover I pushed the botton and the green light told me that it was ready to shave... After 20 days... The shaver seemed powerful while I used it,even before the end of the battery. The battery is good, only 1 hour of charge will give you 45mins of shaving,or you can charge it for 5mins for 1 shaving. After use you can wash it under the water while still on, or you can take off the blades and brush it. I tried to shave myself over the sink for test how much cutted hairs could be dropped and at the end of the shaving there were no hairs or almost on the sink,so you can use it whereever you like without worry about the cutted hairs, because everything will be accumulated inside the blades cup. (I couldn't test it) Below the battery power light there is another red light which will lights up when is time to replace the blades and will switch off automatically after 4 times you use the shaver. This Braun has the Triple Action Cutting System and it means that the blades effectively cut both long and short hairs with every stroke and the three blades can adapt to each facial contour, especially between the jaw and the neck where we normally get more problems. I shaved myself after different days, and I will raccomand it for hairs of 1 or 3 days, because the final result is really smooth with a great shaving experience. The shaving experience changes with hairs longer than 3days because I needed to shave every single place more than twice, that affected the skin effect leaving some spots with irritation. In this model there is no long hair trimmer,so You will miss the chance to give a style to your moustache or your sideburns, but you will save some money and weight, because the 3000 is a bit lighter than the other models with long hair trimmer. In almost a month I shaved all the face every time, the best result I got was on the cheeks because they are flat and because my hairs grow in only one direction, so the result was deep like a razor. The worst result I got was on my neck just because my hairs grow there in different directions and that part of the neck is really irregular, so the final result was not so bad but the cut was not so deep like the one I got on the cheeks. Anyway, definitively the whole shave is satisfying and the skin is without irritations unless you use it only twice a week. The price of this Braun is still ok,basically if you compare the prices of other shavers and this one,you will realise that it worth. Personally I like it but i prefer to change the style of my beard often,so I will consider the next models with the Long Hair Trimmer included. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun 3000 razor

I use an electric razor all the time however I use a rotary razor over a foil one. Having used foul razors before I found they couldn't cut my stubble, however this razor gives a shave as close as my wet shaver. I will switch to this razor over my much more expensive rotary razor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good Shaver for the Price

I received this shaver free from Braun to try out. I have only ever used another brands electric shaver before, but not for a few years. I regularly wet shave using a razor, so wasn't sure how I'd get on with the electric razor. Overall, it's a good addition to my shaving arsenal... On those days when I wasn't quiet motivated enough to crack out the shaving gel and have a full wet shave, I used this and found it to be a good alternative. Sometimes it took a few passes to get all the hairs cut off on the trickier parts of my face, but overall it was very efficient and I got a good shave in very little time! Personal preference, I'd still head for my wet shave razor. But it your looking for an alternative for those days when a full wet shave isn't possible, i'd highly recommend this Braun shaver! A Really Nice Shaver

I really struggle to get a close shave - no matter what product I use it's always a balance between smooth skin and irritating shaving bumps. I have tried an electric shaver before, a small battery-powered rotary model. I was never that impressed with the quality of the shave though I appreciated the convenience of not having to lather up and wash when I'm late for work. The Braun Series 3 3000 was better in many ways. Firstly the large internal battery meant not having to buy expensive AA batteries (and you can never find one just when you need a shave the most!). The shaver can charge enough for 1 shave in just 5 minutes, alternatively it can be run straight from the mains. One full charge is said to last all week. As a foil shaver, I found it much easier to use than the rotary I tried before, and the Braun had no trouble with 3 and even 4-day stubble. The first shave was a little irritating but I found that by washing (and drying) my face first, I got a much better shave. The foil is so easy to clean - you just turn on the shaver and run it under the tap. Job done. The shaver unit is waterproof, but there's no mention of whether you can use it wet-and-dry (e.g. in the shower) which would be a nice feature. The main downside was the closeness of the shave. As with all electric shavers, you just can't get quite as close a result as you can with a wet shave. In one case I found myself needing a second shave in the evening! However, for many men I imagine the convenience and time saved more than makes up for this. All in all I'm pretty pleased with my shaver (which Braun sent to me free of charge for review) and I think that you will be too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun Series 3

I received my free shaver from Braun last week. It arrived nicely packaged and looked very presentable. The shaver fits well in the hand and from a first impression seemed to be well constructed. It should be noted that the charger is two pronged, so in order to charge it, I needed to use an adaptor. When I began shaving I found it to be fairly smooth, it didn't drag across my face and the noise of it was relatively quiet. After a few passes over an area of my face I found that it had worked reasonably well, but it didn't give as close of a shave as my normal wet shave. It charged quickly and from a full charge gave around an hour of usage. Overall I think it's excellent if you want a quick, convenient shave however I will mostly still rely on a wet shave to achieve a close shave. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Clean shaven at last!!!

Thanks to Braun sending me a free series 3 3000 shaver to test I now have an extremely smooth face which is not something that happens very often!! The shaver, although inferior to some of the other brauns in certain aspects, is just as good as the rest when it comes to power and ability. It'll easily tackle 3-4 day stubble with minimum fuss and it does it quietly too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Smooth comfortable shave

I received my Braun Series 3 3000 for free from Braun and it was a pleasant surprise. the Series 3 3000 is quieter, powerful and has a very smooth action with no pulling of hairs even after a couple of days' growth. Battery seems good for about a week of shaves, I have been using all days and I am very happy that didn't lose any power. I am very pleased with the design and weight, ease to adapt to a big hand like mine. It is very light and will be a very good gadget to follow me in my travels this summer. Nice Razor

Nice well made razor, it came with a two pin plug - a shame as I do not have a socket for this in my bathroom. I had to use an adapter to charge it, it does seem to charge very quickly. Overall, the shave was good and the razor itself didn't make an earth shattering noise. I have given this product 4/5 after speaking with a few of my friends I found out they too do not have a socket for shavers in their bathrooms either. It would be nice to have an adapter or another way to charge the product for the people who cannot. The razor has a nice weight to it, and I found it comfortable to hold while using it. I would like to thank Braun for sending me this razor for free. It is still useful, I will be using it for my traveling needs this summer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good At What It Does

I received my Braun Series 3 3000 free from Braun and found its performance was excellent on short stubble and didn't leave me with any shaving irritation after use. The only thing that would prevent me purchasing this item is that it only performs one of the actions that I would expect from a shaver. I regularly go more than a few days between shaving, and most competitor shavers come with a dual function trimmer as well as a close shaving head. This allows longer hairs to be trimmed before a full shave. For anyone who misses a few days shaving, the Braun Series 3 3000 would have to be used in conjunction with another shaving product. However, in what it advertises to do, the shaver works very effectively. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My opinion of the Braun Silk-expert has gone from strength to strength, it's been so easy to use and a delight to try out, I have been delighted with the results over the last 4 weeks and I'm so happy with the fact I am seeing less hair grow and at a slower rate than usual. This is a great product and really has changed the way I feel about IPL in a positive way! Thanks Braun.
