My 2017 beauty resolutions

I’m not one for leaving things to the last minute. So, I usually partake in a mild form of pre-toxing before I ring in the New Year to prevent the January body blues. This involves a few pre-Xmas gym sessions so that I can indulge during the party season without playing catch up come the New Year. Who wants to start on a negative?? That said, I do have some resolutions for 2017 and my beauty routine is the most positive place to start. Here’s my 2017 new cosmetic commandments and I hope you will join me by adopting one or two of them yourself.

I shall look after my nails: As a beauty editor, you may expect me to walk around with perennially manicured nails at all times. Wrong. Whilst I have to confess, I rely on gel manicures for special occasions, my nails and hands are my biggest beauty challenge. Armed with my nail oil by my computer keyboard, in 2017 I vow to treat my nails and hands as I do my face and hair with regular DIY maintenance. In lieu of products? I use coconut oil, which incidentally doubles as a healthy cooking oil. I’ll also be introducing a nail and skin vitamin like Swisse Hair Skin Nails- 60 tablets RRP £29.99 into my diet.

I shall do one face (and hair) mask per week: As someone who is mildly obsessed with cleansing, both my hair and face, I have to admit I’m less diligent when it comes to treatments. But all that’s about to change as from now on I will be lighting a candle and chilling for 10 minutes once a week with a face and hair mask to nourish my skin and hair. I’m currently loving Olay Regenerist 3 Point Treatment Night Cream RRP £29.99 which I double up as a face mask, applying a thicker layer than usual and leaving it on for 10 minutes whilst I soak in a hot bath. My go-to dry end saviour? Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection Advanced Keratin Repair 2 Minute Restorative Masque RRP £6.99 is my hair hero.

I shall eat more beauty foods: From January I will be curbing my daily mocha habit and adding more anti-ageing beauty foods into the mix. Top of my beauty food list: Salmon for the skin lubricating omega 3 fish oils, tomatoes for their built in UV protection, cucumbers for their high hydration content, and eggs for biotin, a healthy hair nutrient.

I agree with you Annabel, going to stick to the weekly face scrub, (Braun Face Spa is great) and mask, love Olay, Aussie hair restore (3 mins) also giving nails a rest from polish, massage nails with vasaline, wash/dry/use hand cream then apply just a base coat.

My opinion of the Braun Silk-expert has gone from strength to strength, it's been so easy to use and a delight to try out, I have been delighted with the results over the last 4 weeks and I'm so happy with the fact I am seeing less hair grow and at a slower rate than usual.
