9 Beauty Secrets to Party Glam

Eight beauty secrets to party glam

Go for glam this party season with one of these insider beauty secrets straight from our experts.

Christmas work parties, festive meals with friends – November is a jammed packed month, so simplify your beauty routine and get glamorous with these fast and easy tricks from our experts for party-perfect skin, hair, and make-up.

1. Get LBD-ready legs

Editor of Beauty Recommended, Annabel Jones, says: “Shave legs with Gillette Venus ProSkin Sensitive Razor for a super-smooth finish, then add highlighter to the fronts of shins to elongate legs and create a glossy flattering finish.”

2. Brow Perfection

Play up the effect of a perfect-looking brow using black mascara on the top lashes and brown mascara on the lower lashes, as seen at Stella McCartney AW13. It’s a gorgeous way to frame the eyes without looking too dramatic.

3. The perfect up-do revealed

Does your up-do come undone before the night is up? Pantene Global Ambassador and catwalk hair stylist Sam McKnight has a backstage trick: “In order for hairpins to stay in place, you must first push the pin into the hair and then turn it back on itself – and then push it all the way in.” We recommend a light spray of Pantene Pro-V Strong Hold Hairspray too.

4. Get a smouldering look

Fresh, dewy, healthy-looking skin and defined eyes or lips create the perfect winter look. Choose your best alluring feature and bring out your beauty – it’s the best way to get noticed.

Enhance the almond shape of your eyes by extend them outwards with eyeliner flicks and mascara on the edge lashes only.

If it’s your lips that you want to focus on, make them appear fuller by rounding the top lip over the cupids bow.

5. Give curls oomph

Curls are back this season but no one wants unruly waves, so get to grips with one of the latest spray gels. “Apply Pantene Pro-V's new Fine Hair Lightweight Instant Nourishing Spray to damp hair to really bring curls to life,” explains Pantene Global Ambassador and catwalk hair stylist Sam McKnight.

6. Matte doesn’t mean flat

Reverse the usual way of applying foundation, highlighter and powder to achieve a velvet matte finish with a three dimensional effect. So put the highlights on first, and then apply foundation, finishing with powder.

7. Do the drop-a-decade hair mask

“My secret to glossy, glamorous hair is all in the prep – I love Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection Age Defy Conditioner and Masque. It leaves locks with a satin sheen before you even hit the styling products,” says Annabel Jones, Editor of Beauty Recommended.

8. Use a winter bronzer

Yes, you can still work bronzer during the winter party season – the trick is to go for one full of warmth. Go for light bronzers or blushers with an illuminating quality that won’t leave skin with that tea-stained look.
