Emma Willis: My Story of &

Gorgeous presenter, Emma Willis discusses the new #UseYourAnd campaign and reveals the secrets to her beauty confidence

Ok, let’s get to it…you’ve just been announced as the face of the Venus 'Use Your And' campaign. Can you tell us about the partnership?

Women today have the chance to try different things, develop skills and define who they want to be more than ever, but according to a recent study into stereotyping and labelling by Venus, 70% of British women still feel held back by one-dimensional labels placed on them. I‘ve always believed that having many different interests, ambitions and ideas is what makes life interesting. That’s why I’m proud to partner with the brand on the new ‘Use Your And’ campaign, which aims to inspire women everywhere to celebrate all the different qualities that make them unique.

What does #UseYourAnd mean to you?

It’s about women not being one-dimensional. It’s not about “are you this or this”, it’s “I’m this AND I’m this.” It’s about motivation. It’s about celebrating ALL of your qualities and reaching your fullest potential because of that.

We love that the ‘Use Your And’ campaign focuses on abandoning labels. Have you ever experienced being labelled?

Not as such but I guess when I was modeling I felt that people had a certain expectation of what a model was and I certainly didn’t fit in to that so I was aware of stereotyping from then really. No one specifically said anything to me but I certainly felt that way.

As a TV presenter, model, mother AND wife, do you have a favourite beauty product for on-the-go girls like yourself?

I have always loved Paw Paw Ointment – it’s just one of those multi-tasking products you keep in your beauty bag which I can use on my lips, skin, even my eyelids for a little sheen. I also love the new Venus Snap portable razor, so cute I can just pop in the handbag so whether I’m dashing to work or to the gym; I know I can always have instant smoothness on-the-go and a feeling of confidence.

And can you share your top body confidence trick?

If I’m getting ready to go out, I treat myself to a long soak in the bath. I’ll first start by body brushing to get rid of any dry skin, and then use Venus & Olay combined with Satin Care Shave Gel with a Touch of Olay, to ensure my legs are smooth and hydrated. I’ll finish with a rich body butter to help lock in moisture. If I have enough time, I’ll also treat myself to a manicure and blow dry because I have naturally curly hair.

What’s the best beauty tip you’ve received lately?

Venus Celebrity Beautician, Nathalie Eleni recently gave me a great tip for getting rid of sock marks, which is really handy when you don’t have much time to prepare legs ahead of a big event. It’s pretty simple; run enough warm water in the bath to cover the marks and add in some Epsom salts to help get rid of any puffiness. Soak for about 5 minutes and then massage any remaining lines out with moisturiser. Simple, but makes legs look gorgeous again.

Finally, who is your beauty icon?

My beauty icon is Michelle Williams. She is effortlessly flawless, even when she is done up and going out, she looks really natural and chic. And she rocks short hair so well which is why I chopped mine off!
