How to look younger and feel amazing Q&A

Our beauty and skincare experts are here help answer your anti-ageing questions. Discover their insider secrets of looking and feeling younger

Q: How can I reduce the puffiness under my eyes? Some days they are really noticeable and make me feel old. Maria Kerr

Anastasia Achilleos, Olay global ambassador and celebrity facialist: “I advise my clients with puffy eyes to massage the eye area daily using a proven specialist eye product which will help to de-puff. Olay Regenerist’s new Advanced Age-defying Eye Roller is a genius innovation and my clients love it. Because of its neat pen-shaped applicator, it’s compact enough to keep in your make-up bag/pocket so you can give yourself an eye massage whenever you need it. As the applicator is primed to release a precise dose per click, it means you can’t flood the eye area with too much product and can re-apply as often as you wish throughout the day to keep the area more hydrated.”

Q: My skin is battling with the weather, which is making it look and feel dehydrated. How can I get back my healthy glow? Stacey D’Souza

Dr Sian Morris, Olay Principal Scientist: “Dehydration can be a big problem for skin in the winter due to a number of harsh environmental factors. The biting cold and wind can make skin dry and sensitive, and central heating can then exacerbate this leaving skin feeling both tight and dehydrated. With spring around the corner, your skin will soon recover. But in the meantime, it’s important to keep it well-hydrated with rich and nourishing moisturisers. I suggest you try either Olay Regenerist 3 Point Treatment Cream or new Olay Total Effects Moisturiser + Serum Duo, both morning and evening. This will help ensure skin stays radiant and healthy-looking whatever the weather.”

Q: I’m 58 this year and suffering from fine, thinning hair. Can you recommend a product specifically for thinning hair? Marian Redmond

Frauke Neuser, Pantene Pro-V Principal Scientist: “Thinning hair can be caused by many different factors – for example illness, hormonal changes, stress, crash diets, age or genetic factors. It can also be caused by excessive damage to the hair, which leads to breakage. Keeping hair in great condition can certainly help to help prevent breakage and damage – but it won’t help with hereditary hair loss. Visiting a trichologist or dermatologist specialising in hair disorders might help to find tailored solutions to your problem. As for products, an effective shampoo is essential for fine hair as scalp oils can travel faster down fine, straight hair and accumulate along the hair fibres, making lasting volume a challenge. Fine hair needs conditioner too, yet so women with fine hair worry that it will make their hair greasy, but moisturisation from root to tip is essential for all hair types. The Pantene Pro-V range for fine hair is customised specifically for your hair structure, so not only are the shampoos excellent cleansers, featuring a new ingredient that has been designed specifically for fine hair, but the conditioners and treatments are lightweight, to prevent hair from falling flat.”

The Olay Regenerist eye cream it sounds amazing & so easy to use. I love the fact that it's not just a once or twice a day product. I already use the Olay essentials BB creams with a touch of foundation, they are great for the Summer - not that we've had much of one in Scotland!!
