Ageless Beauty: 5 ways to get the skin you need for the no makeup trend

5 ways to get the skin you need for the no makeup trend

1. Polish = perfection

The foundation to all good skin lies in your cleansing routine. Not only does thorough daily cleansing remove impurities and prevent blemishes, the contact with your skin when massaged with either a hot cloth, cleansing brush, or even fingers will help reduce fluid and mildly exfoliate skin’s surface. If you’re itching to minimize your makeup look, we recommend Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System RRP £39.99. A brush that helps cleans up to 4 x more effectively than manual cleansing alone.

2. Focus on eyes

New research shows that your eye area can have a biological age 22 years older than the rest of your face, due to the delicate nature of the skin. Don’t worry, there’s good news – dark circles, puffiness and fine lines can be reduced and prevented significantly if you introduce a daily eye ritual. Tip: Massage in your chosen eye cream in a circular motion from the cheekbone through to brow bone to reduce puffiness and deliver hydration to the skin’s surface. For an instant eye lift effect, we recommend Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream RRP £24.99, a vitamin-rich formula that moisturises and renews skin over time, whilst giving eyes an instant pop of brightness thanks to its peachy skin-correcting tone, acting as a light-reflecting under eye concealer.

3. Clean up your diet

Little makeup requires skin to exude its own natural health - and nothing gives more vibrancy than colourful fruits and vegetables. So, try adding as many vibrant colours as you can at every meal and this should help your skin transform from dull to bright in a matter of weeks.

4. Brighten teeth and lips

If you’re giving lipstick a break, try enhancing your natural lip colour. Firstly, invest in a power toothbrush and power paste to help whiten and brighten teeth, which is likely to make your lip colour appear naturally bright in contrast. We recommend Oral B Genius Toothbrush RRP £280 with Oral B Pro-Expert Deep Clean Toothpaste RRP £3.50. Then, get into the habit of gently exfoliating lips with either a warm flannel or with a soft bristle toothbrush. This will get the blood circulating and polish away dry patches for a smooth, rosy lip surface.

5. Go for glow

When makeup is in short supply, always opt for a skin cream that has illuminating properties. A lotion with light reflecting particles will create a glow under the light. A bit like walking around with a permanent photo filter, try Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening & Protecting Cream RRP £29.99 that helps reduces the look of dark spots for an even, glowing skin. Or for a teeny bit of coverage, try Olay Regenerist CC Complexion Corrector RRP £24.99 for instant glow-boosting results.

I agree with Clarecats about staying fit, getting regular exercise and moving every chance you get to improve circulation and eating non processed food. Also get outside and get fresh air and natural light. Even on dull days. And wear moisturing spf on your face and hands on those days to protect from the cold wind etc.

Keeping fitter will improve your circulation and this helps rejuvenate skin cells. Eating non-processed food as often as you can fit it in to your day gives you a great deal of goodness. Leave out white carbohydrates like white bread, pasta, rice, rice cakes. They are pure sugar.
