Trend on Trial: How to get the gloss back

With Autumn soon upon us, your hair may be suffering from the trials of Summer weather. Here's how to get the gloss and shine back into your hair.

There is no beauty asset more deserving of a spa treatment than one’s hair. Think about this for a moment, our skin cells renew themselves every 28 days. Our hair, on the other hand, is left to age and weather with little more than a wash and quick condition.

I put my hair through a lot. I drench it in sweat at my hot yoga class three times a week. I travel in a city to work, and, I am embarrassed to admit, I barely give it a trim. It does get some reprieve - I am not a slave to my hairdryer and barely tong, but for a really fancy occasion. That said, autumn does something to my sense of style, I get mildly obsessed with looking groomed and ‘put together’; As soon as my boots come out of winter storage, I start wearing lipstick and coats with lapels, and this type of ladylike dressing requires tidy, well-kept hair. In other words, a smooth well-kept surface and, yes, this does involve blow drying.

So, to get my hair back to a glossy state and prepare it for a season of heat styling, I have dedicated a week to hair treatments. The first step is to switch my detoxing shampoo and conditioner for one that is designed to hydrate. I have chosen Aussie Miracle Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner RRP £3.99. Immediately, I notice my hair is less flyaway and is easier to comb through. On the first night, I applied Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Oil Reconstructor RRP £9.99 to freshly washed hair. I heated up a towel, wrapped my hair in it and painted my nails whilst I waited for the magic to happen. I’ve heard this described as like intensive care for hair, and it didn’t disappoint. After rinsing and blow drying, my hair is all glowing and glossy.

For the next few days I alternated between ordinary conditioner and Aussie Miracle Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment RRP £4.99, which seemed to keep my hair from submitting to frizz, without feeling heavy. On occasion, I employed the services of Aussie’s Miracle Shine Conditioning Spray RRP £4.99, a light-weight leave in hydrator when I needed a refresh. By the end of the week, I felt a newfound connection with my hair. The more I pampered it, the more it rose to the occasion, giving off more radiance and gloss as if it was beaming from all the attention. Next stop, the salon.

My opinion of the Braun Silk-expert has gone from strength to strength, it's been so easy to use and a delight to try out, I have been delighted with the results over the last 4 weeks and I'm so happy with the fact I am seeing less hair grow and at a slower rate than usual. This is a great product and really has changed the way I feel about IPL in a positive way! Thanks Braun.

I have done my 3rd Braun Silk-expert IPL treatment I have noticed the hairs on my legs are softer and finer and my arms are also a lot finer - I am loving it so much! I'm sure after a few more treatments the results will be even more amazing.
