Let holiday inspiration change your life

Let holiday inspiration change your life

Try these easy ways to make the most of your summer break and keep the laidback beach vibe going once you’re back home

Why not get more than just a fortnight’s R&R out of your holiday budget? Here are some simple ways to let your holiday experience inspire everyday life.

Dream big, be bold

On holiday we often do things we’d never dream of doing at home. Whether that’s because the opportunity isn’t on our doorstep (hang gliding or water skiing, for example) or because we feel less self-conscious when we’re among strangers (karaoke or speaking a local language).

Be more adventurous at home or at work once you’re back and you’ll find you have a revived sense of urgency about moving your life along. It could be that you’ve been thinking for ages about changing your job or moving home, or something smaller but still important. Use those ‘I did it!’ holiday experiences to give yourself the kickstart you need and check out our article Be confident and achieve your goals.

Try something new

When we’re away from home we’re forced to adapt to our surroundings – to eat new things, spend our days differently and often dare ourselves a little. We might come back home with a taste for a new Mediterranean fish dish or with tales of having gone on a rollercoaster for the first time in our lives, because the kids wanted a ride and we had to be the ‘responsible adult’!

Being more adaptable at home not only keeps daily life more interesting, it can make it healthier too. Stop and think about the week’s meals instead of returning to the same habits, and challenge yourself to add new flavours, or maybe take up a new hobby instead of defaulting to another night on the sofa! Find out more in this feature, Motivate yourself to try something new.

Take a ‘holiday’ every day

Unless you’ve won the lottery, the chances are you’re back to a busy daily routine as soon as you open the front door, but you can keep some of that chilled spirit alive – just organise your time differently. A little creative forward planning (sorting a rota for school drop off, or simplifying your mealtime routines) can squeeze some precious me-time out of every day. To find out how, read Finding 30 minutes each day for yourself.

I really enjoyed taking part and trying out Always Discreet. I love that I can finally feel comfortable running around with my children or even going to the gym. 10/10 from me and my friends as it's left us not just with security but we also feel finally confident, so top marks from us!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try Always Discreet. I feel more comfortable now and even my family and friends have been able to talk openly about this. I can now play with my boys on the trampoline without worrying now, it's all the simple things I couldnt/wouldn't do before but now I can. Thank you x
