Things to do on Easter Sunday

At the heart of an extra long weekend, Easter Sunday is the ideal time to relax and enjoy yourself after the pre-Easter build up.

With a bank holiday on either side, the Sunday at the centre of Easter weekend is one of the few days in the year when we have the luxury of extra time to get ourselves sorted in advance and a day afterwards to get ready for the working week again. So we’ve plotted out a few ways to make the most of this brilliant opportunity to savour the feelgood factor of spring.

Morning with the kids
Even a big Easter lunch won’t require the hours of prep you needed for dinner at Christmas, so get out of the kitchen and join an Easter Egg hunt with your children.
• Why not check out our SuperSavvy Easter Hunt ideas to suit children of all ages?
• Keep the spring fun going indoors as well as out. Keep little ones busy with our Easter Crafts with Children including decorated boiled eggs and basket making.

Lunch with the family
If you’re entertaining, relax! Get the kids to mix a fizzy pop mocktail to hand out to guests in dainty glasses as a fun pre-lunch welcome.
• If you want to make a traditional roast lamb lunch, here are our easy Easter dinner recipes. We’ve also got recipes for Sweet Easter treats – from chocolate nests to Simnel cake.
• Alternatively, skip the cooking and go out for lunch. Why not find a good park cafe to eat at? More informal and cheaper than booking a table at a restaurant, park cafes also have more space for toddlers and cousins to run around while the grown-ups chat over a leisurely meal.
