I Spy

Millie, Badly Drawn Mum

May Bank Holiday! Once again we join the entire nation in the cliché of stationary traffic, hot cars and VERY grumpy children crammed in the back.  Is it worth it just to get away for THREE nights?  It seems that every year we wind up in the same situation even though we have SWORN we will not join the crowds ever again and stay at home instead.  Maybe Bank Holidays are a bit like childbirth - seriously painful but all you can remember is the joy at the end?

Half an hour into the journey, after six “Are we there yets”, two squabbles and a spilt juice carton, I am regretting my decision not to invest in video headsets for the kids.  I thought we could while away the journey with nice traditional games like I spy, just as I did when I was little.  FOOLISH.   Here is how our game went:

Me: I spy with my little eye something beginning with.....C”
