Reset your body clock

Reset your body clock

Setting the clocks forward allows us to enjoy more daylight in the evening. However, the shift in time can have an impact on our quality of sleep. So instead of grabbing that extra cup of coffee what should we do to prevent feeling sleepy?

  • Catch some rays. Get some exposure to the sun earlier in the day. Thirty minutes each morning will help reset your internal clock and give you a boost of energy. Then avoid bright lights later in the evening as you prepare for sleep.
  • Be consistent. Don’t change the time you go to bed or set the alarm. And don’t fall into bad habits like snacking later at night. Make sure you still allow yourself plenty of relaxation time prior to bed.
  • Create the right mood. Take a warm bath, read, listen to music and infuse your room with calming scents to help you establish a routine. The new Febreze Sleep Serenity collection will help. It comes in three relaxing scents;  Moonlit Lavender, Quiet Jasmine and Warm Milk and Honey,  which create a calm and soothing bedtime atmosphere, helping you to settle down for a good night’s sleep.
  • Resist the urge to nap. Long afternoon naps can prevent you from falling asleep later on.
