How to get rid of limescale in your toilet

Limescale in the toilet? It’s not a good look and clearly shows that you live with hard water. The build-up of white residue is enough to sound off-putting. Luckily, we know exactly how to tackle tough limescale.

Even the toughest limescale can be removed easily, if you know what you’re doing. In the fight against limescale, you should start with giving your toilet a good clean.

To start with, get your gloves on and pour some toilet cleaner under the rim of the bowl. Start scrubbing the bowl with a toilet brush and leave it to work. Once that’s all done, flush the toilet cleaner away.

Eliminate limescale!
Before we tell you how to get rid of toilet limescale, let’s start by debunking a myth. A lot of bleach products will only make the limescale stains appear white, but the limescale will remain. We suggest applying Viakal Limescale Remover liquid on all surfaces affected by limescale and scrub it down. Leave it to work for up to five minutes and all your limescale worries should flush away after a little scrubbing. If it’s really encrusted, you might want to repeat the process. Wherever there’s limescale, Viakal can remove it. Viakal even helps prevent limescale from coming back quickly. Just try it and see!

Where there’s water...
It’s easy to forget about limescale in the toilet, as it’s not so obvious to the eye until it starts to become unsightly. But wherever there’s water, there are naturally occurring minerals that can lead to a build-up of residue, causing limescale. Who can blame the toilet for being affected by limescale, it’s constantly full of water!

Smell as good as you look
Now that your bathroom is as clean as clean can be, you might want to make it smell as good as it looks! Spray Febreze Air Effects aerosol above your toilet whenever necessary to instantly eliminate any unwanted odours.
So there you have it, we’ve shared everything we know about getting rid of toilet limescale and we even threw in a few extra tips, too!
