Store cupboard meals

Make tasty meals just with the contents of your store cupboard!

Hand’s up! Who has items in their store cupboard they’ve only used once, or, aren’t quite sure what to do with? Go on, don’t be shy!

It may surprise you, but you probably have a heap of new recipe ideas just sitting there, waiting to be discovered and turned in to something delicious and low cost.

So as Fairy helps value-seeking mums squeeze the most out of their budget and save, we’ve pulled together some handy tips and tricks to help you make the most of these ‘mystery’ store cupboard items.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

Whip up a really quick sweet and sour sauce with a good squirt of tomato paste, a glug of soy sauce and a tablespoon of honey – all the typical ingredients hiding in the back of your cupboards, and something the kids will love!

Just pop all of the ingredients in a bowl and get stirring.  Try pouring it over some fresh salmon or chicken strips, as well as a few vegetables (such as broccoli, red peppers and mushrooms) for a sizzling stir fry.  Don’t forget the noodles!

Wraps

Another great basic which you shouldn’t be without are wraps. They defrost in a matter of minutes and can be transformed into fajitas, enchiladas or a quick lunch time meal.

We love them toasted flat (like a pizza or quesadilla) with a little cheddar cheese, onion and tomato, but get your creativity on! There are so many healthy and delicious filling options to choose from. This is a really versatile essential and if kept in the freezer, they last even longer!

I cannot believe how long it lasts! Compared to other air fresheners I've used in the past - this by far outdoes them all. The scent is strong enough to notice but not overpowering. Very happy and will definitely continue to use! 5* without a doubt.

My Ambi Pur 3volution is still going strong even after 6 weeks. I would definitely give it 5 stars just on value for money alone. The fragrance is beautiful and not overpowering. It does an excellent job of getting rid of the stale wet doggy smells at this time of year.
