Kids Halloween Treats: Crispy Rice Ghosts

Want to make some spooky treats for Halloween? If you’re a busy mother, try these fast and easy recipes. They’ll make the occasion horrifyingly special for your kids. The classic crispy rice cereal and marshmallow recipe gets a ghostly twist.

Ingredients (serves 6 people)

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups crispy rice cereal
  • ½ cup white chocolate
  • Mini chocolate chips

  1. Melt butter in a sauce pan over lowheat.Add marshmallows and stir until melted and blended with butter.Remove from heat.

  2. Add cereal. Stir until well coated.

  3. Spread mixture on a cookie sheet or jellyroll pan so it’s evenly flat. Let it cool for a few minutes before handling.

  4. Use a cookie cutter shaped as a tombstone or ghost to cut mixture. Place shapes on wax or parchment paper and let harden for about an hour.

  5. Melt white chocolate.Dip two-thirds of each piece to make a ghost.Add mini chocolate chips for eyes. Let white chocolate harden and gobble them up!
