When juicing a lemon my tip is to roll it on a hard surface before cutting, then holding the lemon cut side up when squeezing to avoid the pips falling into your dish. Also when juicing a lime follow the same procedure with the rolling but then juice with the cut side facing down :)

If you hold it cut side up when squeezing, you are going to get juice in your eye, which stings, pips in your eye, and juice running down your hands onto your sleeves. Sure this is not an April Fool? Warming any citrus fruit increases the juice, including grapefruit.

i found putting lemon under the hot water tap, or putting the lemon in the microwave for about 5 seconds, then lightly rolling it before cutting is the best way to juice a lemon.
