Is Your Wardrobe Full of Sleeping Beauties?

Did you know that almost 90% of us do not wear all of the clothes in our wardrobes and that our wardrobes are full of ‘sleeping beauties’ that we ignore on a daily basis because they are not fresh enough to wear?

A Europe-wide survey of over 3,000 people found that we tend to wear the same clothes week in, week out and that we are all guilty of holding on to clothes without wearing them, with just 11% of us wearing the full contents of our wardrobes. What's more, instead of wearing everything we own, when we get bored, we just buy new clothes and leave the rest at the back of the wardrobe because it's not "fresh"!

With the cost of living continuing to rise, now is the time to make the most of what we already have by taking a look in our wardrobes to revive past clothes which haven’t seen the light of day in a long time.

Lenor Infusions is encouraging women to awaken the Sleeping Beauties in their wardrobes with its seven times longer lasting freshness and make the most of what they own by awakening their forgotten clothes.

In the UK, less than half of us admit to hoarding clothes, despite stating that we have clothes in our wardrobes which have been unworn for up to five years. We seem to have a variety of excuses for not wearing what we own, with 21% saying that they do not make full use of their wardrobes as clothes get to the back of their wardrobes and lose their "freshness".

The ten most hoarded items of clothing are:
1.       T-Shirts
2.       Trousers
3.       Shirts/Blouses
4.       Jumpers
5.       Jackets
6.       Skirts
7.       Underwear
8.       Socks
9.       Shorts
10.    Tracksuits

Lenor’s research found that 47% of us choose clothes from our wardrobes based on how soft they are and how fresh they smell, compared to just 24% of people who will choose clothes that will make themselves feel good.

Based on this, 71% of us will use a wardrobe clear out to re-discover our clothes and wash them to refresh so they're ready to be worn again. That's versus 26% of us who use a clear out to make room for new clothes. A massive number of us only clear out our wardrobes once a year and, interestingly, when we do get around to a clear out, 45% of people from the UK surveyed find clothes they had forgotten about!

So what are you waiting for? You might have a whole new look waiting for you at the back of your closet.
