Four ways to wash away the toughest day
Whether you’ve had a long day at work before rushing home to pick up the kids, or you’re exhausted from toddler play and have glitter in your hair, sometimes you just need to detox from the day. Here’s how.
1. Light that fire
After the kids are in bed, dim the lights and light a candle or three, allowing the soft flickering and gentle scent to calm your mood. Switch off the TV, put on some music and spend 10 minutes with your eyes closed, just thinking or meditating, letting your mind wander. You’ll feel relaxed and refreshed.
2. Detox your hair
Pollution and our hectic lifestyles can leave hair feeling greasy, dirty, limp and lifeless by the end of the day, but according to a P&G survey, 53% of women equate happiness wit that ‘clean’ feeling of freshly washed hair, while a further 46% find they smile more when their hair looks good. The new Herbal Essences Daily Detox with Mint will give you an amazing in-shower scented experience, while gently washing the day away. Its clean formula contains no silicones*, parabens or colorants and gently removes everyday impurities like pollution, sweat and residues, leaving you feeling great and hair feeling and smelling fresh.
3. Put clean sheets on the bed
That crisp, cool feeling of fresh sheets is unbeatable. Ok, making the bed from scratch is always a bit of an effort, but it’s worth it. Snuggling under fresh-smelling covers, scented with your favourite Lenor fabric conditioner and maybe a spritz of lavender Febreze, will instantly banish any lingering feelings of discontent, allowing you to sleep better, and feel refreshed in the morning.
4. Deep treat your skin
After cleansing, give your skin a special deep treatment with a mask or night cream, such as Olay Regenerist 3-Point Night Cream, to nourish it after a hard day. Your complexion should be glowing tomorrow – which means you can cut down on make-up, too, helping keep your skin clear and young-looking.
