Homemade ice cream tastes amazing but the conventional process involves time consuming freezing, stirring, more freezing and quite a lot of fuss. Here is an easy recipe for making ice cream that will impress your friends but takes little effort. It’s a great recipe for kids to make, too.

Ingredients
500g frozen strawberries (no need to defrost)
100g caster sugar
300g double cream

Make the ice cream
This process is really quick so if you wanted to make a super-fresh dessert for guests you could nip out to kitchen and make the ice cream just before you need it.

  • Whizz the frozen fruit in a blender.
  • Whip the double cream and the sugar together then add this a few spoonfuls at a time to the fruit.
  • Mix this together in the blender for a few more seconds.

Top tip from Eleanor (9): ‘My brother doesn’t like strawberry flavour puddings so we use frozen raspberries if he’s in a fussy mood!’

Serve or store your ice cream
For a soft, creamy chilled dessert, serve in tubs immediately.
Alternatively, spoon the mixture into a freezeable tub and freeze for two hours then it’s ready to serve.
