Cornish delight for competition winners

The Perkins family danced their way to four nights in a fabulous Hobbit-style eco pod in the beautiful West Country. Here’s how they enjoyed an unforgettable break.

When Woman & Home magazine held a competition asking its readers about the ordinary things that make an extraordinary impact on their lives, music fan, Kit Perkins revealed the get-down-and-groove sessions that regularly take over her family kitchen.

We loved how she was inspiring her children (Amy, aged eight, and Sam, aged 6) to see that everyday fitness can mean fun-ness too. And we were delighted when Kit, husband James and the kids won a short break to the Atlantic Surf Pods in Bude to reward their efforts.

The Perkins visited Cornwall during October half term. Amy and Sam were excited to be in such a cool glamping spot and mum and dad were thrilled to find a picnic hamper waiting to welcome them.

Away from the pods, the family visited the Eden Project where they made ‘Halloweden’ magic potions with a scary witch. They also carved pumpkins at RHS Rosemoor and enjoyed a pumpkin treasure hunt. And for Kit, the highlight was a visit to the Gnome Reserve & Wild Flower Garden, home to more than 1,000 garden gnomes.

Arriving back home was a pleasure too, as a professional cleaning team had worked their magic all over the house.

Extraordinary results – Everyday Effect

You can read the family’s reaction to winning here. And while we won’t all be whisked off to an eco pod, we can enjoy the little things that make a big difference. It’s what P&G calls the Everyday Effect. That wonderful feeling of clean sheets that you’ve washed with Ariel, for example. Being able to make your kitchen sparkly in no time with Flash. Your home smelling fantastic thanks to Ambi Pur with a touch of Febreze. The list goes on.
