Christmas craft projects for kids: Decorated candleholders

Making candleholders is not only a fun activity for the kids, you’ll have plenty of ambient lighting to warm up your Christmas table, or to dot along hallways and patios.

You will need

  • small glass jars
  • red and white buttons
  • clear glue
  • red and white string
  • silver cord
  • white sand or small stones
  • candles

To make

  1. Ensure the glass jars are clean and dry.
  2. Stick the buttons onto the sides of the jars using clear glue (we used Bostik Clear All-purpose Adhesive) and leave to dry.
  3. Further decorate the jars with string and cord.
  4. Fill each jar halfway with sand or small stones (for example, fish tank gravel) and insert a candle.
